The Game Awards 2025 are scheduled to take place next month and all eyes will be on which title wins the coveted Game of the Year award. Team Cherry speaking exclusively in an interview with Bloomberg don’t think that the acclaimed Hollow Knight Silksong will scoop the award this year as they believe that the award will go to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Here’s what they told Bloomberg:
Congrats on the Game of the Year nomination. Are you guys going to LA?
William Pellen: Maybe not. We’re pretty busy.
So if you win, you’ll have to record a video message or something, because you won’t be able to take the stage.
Ari Gibson: This year I think we’re safe. I think Expedition 33 — it’s exceptional and broadly palatable. Whereas we’re on that knife’s edge, where it appeals to some and infuriates others.
I’ll start caring about Expedition 33 when they get a Switch 2 version announced, until then I’m not interested and if they don’t ever make that version I don’t want to hear about it anymore

Silksong is definitely my game of the year regardless of who wins the game awards
