Digital Foundry has been putting Final Fantasy VII Remake through its paces ahead of its release and they seem impressed with what Square Enix has achieved on the Nintendo Switch 2. The team says that the game is somewhere between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 version, sometimes closer to the PlayStation 4 version and sometimes closer to the PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy VII Remake on the Nintendo Switch 2 is roughly 1080p docked and 720p in handheld and is basically locked 30fps in both modes. The loading times are faster than PlayStation 4, but not in the same ballpark as the PlayStation 5.

So do you want to play it at 720p at 30fps? I honestly do not think that audience in large wants too they have it on PS4/PS5 and PC.
720p in handheld mode should look fine though. And not everyone cares about the best graphics. An RPG should always be about the story and characters first and foremost anyways. I can still play the original and appreciate it just fine. In fact, I prefer it still. The new one is much better than I expected it to be, but it loses a lot of charm with its realistic graphics and other updates.

Happy to see that Switch 2 is good enough for most of the third party games… but unfortunately it will NEVER be enough for GTA VI. Not everybody likes GTA… i know i don’t and i have a PS5 and Xbox Series X as well (yes i do have a switch and a Switch 2). There are other games tho, that i would really like to come to Switch 2, like say, Doom Dark Ages and many others… hopefully they’ll come but who knows…
GTA is massive but Nintendo will be fine without it they have first party. However would love GTA 4 and 5 ported.
Guys… GTA V is the best selling console game of all time, with over 220 millions (AND KEEPS GROWING AS WE SPEAK). It’s just obvious that once its successor releases, it will completely monopolize the attentions (unfortunately), and once it will launch, people will cut the strings on all the other games with no mercy. Switch did not have GTA 5 and thrived. GTA is a mega series but not defining for Switch. It’s a bit of a different demo than the regular PS5 audience, Switch owners are not too into western games like that also love first party
