Nintendo has updated the official EU eShop listing for Splatoon Raiders, adding a “PEGI 7” age rating classification to the upcoming Switch 2 exclusive. As spotted by a Splatoon superfan on Twitter/X, and then independently verified by us using the Wayback Machine, the webpage only displayed a “TBD” rating as recently as 1st April, confirming that this is a very recent change. Although PEGI has not added the game to their own website yet, Nintendo has indeed added the age rating to theirs, whether intended or not. Unless it’s some kind of technical error, this means we should be receiving more information about the game very soon, as age ratings only happen when development is nearing completion.
When the Splatoon spin-off was first announced last summer, you may remember there was speculation that the game was already rated by ESRB/PEGI, suggesting an imminent release. However, that one was a false alarm, as the rating spotted turned out to be intended for Splatoon 3, which was featured in the same trailer as the Splatoon Raiders reveal. But nearly a year later, it’s happening for real.

Happy 20 years of MyNintendoNews! The first article was published 20 years ago from today. Thank you to everyone who runs this site like Sickr and nintendojam for providing a independent, non-bias newsite for nintendo fans to enjoy.
Thanks so much for reading! I started writing for MNN about 5 years ago and honestly didn’t know I shared a birthday with the anniversary of the site, which is a very cool coincidence. Getting a comment like this made my day! 😊
It’s fairly bias and horribly inaccurate. The number of times they report on leakers, I mean POS subhuman basement dwelling thieves, is incorrigible. That’s not behavior we should be praising as no self-respecting gamer would ever support those POS subhuman thieves. If you’re entitlement won’t allow you to patiently wait for the developer to release THEIR information when THEY are ready to, you don’t need to be in this community and should find a different hobby instead of ruining ours. Leakers, I mean POS subhuman thieves, do in fact make things worse and the only ones who can stop that are the same ones perpetuating it; “journalists”. We should be demanding better, not feeding our selfish, entitled, egos.
Thank you 😊
This is cool, I have had MNN as my homepage on my PC for probably nearly 20 years now. I found this site way back then and always liked its style and the info they give out. I still frequent the site though due to recent… shifts in mentality, I have stopped adding comments and usually skip reading them for my own mental well being. Glad I came across your comment here. Thanks Sickr and all the other contributors for 20 years of a lovely news site that keeps people coming back all this time.
Thank you, it’s thanks to you and the other readers and commenters that I’m still doing this and hopefully will for a long time 😊
I wish we knew what the game was about. Hopefully it’s a real game this time instead of yet another shallow MP mode packaged as a real game for full price. Remember when MP modes were side content that came included with the actual game and not the main attraction for the casuals? Yeah, those were good times. Now all you have to do is make 4 – 8 maps, slap a 5 – 10 minute timer on it, include 3 game types, and sell it for $70 and everyone goes crazy! You can see the entire thing in less than an hour and somehow a real game is “one & done” after 20, 40, 80 hours but this 1- 3 hour casual package isn’t? Every game is replayable, just as every MP mode is replayable, let’s stop the grift.
