Ember Lab says working on a Zelda game in the future would be exciting

The team behind Kena: Bridge of Spirits and its upcoming sequel have said in a new interview that they would love to be able to work on The Legend of Zelda franchise. Ember Lab COO Josh Grier said that they are all big Zelda fans at the studio and that the franchise was a “major inspiration” for them when they were children. Grier said if an “opportunity came along to create something in the Zelda world, I have to say that would be quite exciting.”

Back in 2016, Ember Lab created the Zelda: Majora’s Mask Terrible Fate fan film. Given the studio’s origins, would you be interested in working on the series if Nintendo granted the team access to the Zelda IP? Do you have any ideas that you’d implement for a new game?

We love the Zelda series at the studio. It was a major inspiration for so many of us when we were kids, and each installment continues to inspire us now that we’re making games ourselves. Making the Terrible Fate fan film was truly a labor of love, and we’re so glad we could share it with so many other Zelda fans. We’ve currently got our hands full with the sequel to our Spirit Guide’s adventure in Kena: Scars of Kosmora, releasing later this year, but if an opportunity came along to create something in the Zelda world, I have to say that would be quite exciting.

  1. That would be awesome to see! I mean Cadence of hyrule was amazing, it woul be cool seeing aother studio make a unique spin off.

    1. A Boy Named Charlie Lonk

Cadence of Hyrule was great, and most of the 2D Zelda games have all been made my none Nintendo Studios, literally all of them practically.

        1. Yeah, Capcom did those and Grezzo did Echo’s of Wisdom and I think link Between Worlds along with multiple remakes / Remasters
