Video game leaker Extas1s has published a post on X claiming that the long-awaited next Persona game from Atlus is already feature complete. While he says Persona 6 is currently feature complete the game isn’t set to launch anytime soon and it is delayed internally until 2027. Extas1s speculates that Persona 6 could be showcased at the Xbox Showcase next month or at The Summer Game Fest or The Game Awards. Here’s what Extas1s had to say via machine translation.
The development of Persona 6 is practically finished, but you won’t be playing it anytime soon. A new leak from Asian forums (Xiaohongshu) has just revealed Atlus’ internal plans. The 3 key details from the leak:
- Status: The game is at a “feature complete” stage (basically finished).
- Release: Internally delayed until 2027.
- Protagonists (Duality): The designs for both have been confirmed. The female protagonist will have black and red hair; the male protagonist will be blond. With that release window, it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s shown for the first time at the Xbox Showcase or at The Game Awards/Summer Game Fest.
To give context to the source: the Xiaohongshu network has been the epicenter of accurate SEGA and Atlus leaks in the past due to outsourced art and testing work in Asia. The fact that they already know the hair colors indicates that promotional artwork is already circulating internally.
A lot of the old staff left so not sold on this and also it seems it will skip this gen or be cross gen like 5 was. The creator has a new game on the way Villion:Code so more curious about that.

Apparently it’s under Compile. Compile Heart, Sting, and Idea Factory! Have been releasing a ton of borderline trash RPGs in the last decade or 2. And both Sting and iF! Develop under Compile.

That game is made by some former staff who left the series after Persona 2. If you were fine with Persona 3 to 5 you should be okay with this.
