Monolith Soft has finally unveiled what it has been working on all this time and it is a brand new Xenoblade adventure which is coming in 2027. Xenoblade Genesis looks set to be another epic adventure from the team behind the Xenoblade video games for the Nintendo Switch 2. A release date will be announced at a later date.

The moment I saw this, it immediately became one of my favorite announcements from the direct: i’m just curious how it’s going to tie into the other 3 games.
Its funny how some Xeno Elitist on Twitter/X (with 100ks to 50ks followings) seem to crap on anime characters with elf ears and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. But when Genki Yokota and Tetsuya Takahashi made that very thing those peeps on Twitter/X acted like they always liked FE:3H and Elf Characters.
Seriously though I thought it looked good for Normal RPG Standards, the Dyson Sphere like aesthetic of the world is pretty unique. Having said that, I believe Yokota-san and Takahashi-san wanted to see XenoGens sell five million copies on the Switch 2, so they fashioned their next game into Open World Three Houses with Elfs.
I’m keen for a new Xenoblade game, but I reckon people are already overhyping it before we’ve even seen enough gameplay. The series has always been strongest when it balances exploration with a solid story, not when fans start building impossible expectations. If Genesis delivers a good world and memorable characters, that’ll be enough for me. Also, with more players gaming on the go these days, I’ve noticed a lot of services are putting effort into mobile experiences.
