THQ’s executive vice president of core games, Danny Bilson has announced that Darksiders 2 will be a launch game for the Wii U. Bilson also confirmed that the company is “looking at” making two other games for launch.
“We’re planning on putting Darksiders 2 on the new console at launch,” confirmed Bilson. “Darksiders 2 has very deep inventory system. The new controller allows for the inventory screen to be active at the same time as the adventure on the main screen so as soon as we saw that, that was the first game we started to move onto the new platform.”
“It’s not just going to be Darksiders 2, we’re looking at two other titles for launch and many more beyond that. We’re incredibly supportive and excited about the new console.”

I’m happy that the launch lineup is looking good but I’m worried that the Wii U won’t have any original games to start off with. I’d rather see new stuff than ports of current games like Assassin’s Creed that have been out for years.
I truely loved the first one, gave me hours of gameplay and seeing the brief glimpse at E3 got me excited, for the Wii U too? Looks like Nintendo are going in the right direction!
I am worried that developers will only use the WiiPad screed as just a menu for maps or inventory. While, that can be useful, the Wii U has so much more potential than that.
It’s been said that Nintendo are continually showing developers alternate uses for the screen. That won’t sway every developer, but we’ll still be seeing creative uses. Even better, we won’t end up with a bunch of broken games like many early 3rd Party Wii titles.
Why be worried the game is actually really good. Ports are fine as long as the game is good but they might get over shadowed by up and coming companies.
Looks great. I’m not concerned that it won’t be ready for launch… Not at all, (ok, yes I am)
