Vigil Games has announced that Darksiders 2 is due to be released next summer. The game is scheduled to be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. THQ has yet to announce a release date for the Wii U version, but it’s “anticipated to be a launch title” for the system. Could the Wii U be coming summer 2012?

It wouldn’t make sense to have it right after E3 though. E3 is their chance to increase the buzz and want for it, so if it comes out weeks or a month later it wouldn’t have a huge buzz. I guess a fall release, probably late fall, so it will have the holiday season backing, like an Oct-Nov release.

the longer nintendo take to make the wii u the more likely any flaws it might have will be ironed out making for a much better console, im ready to wait as long as it takes with the wii u and this would be an excellent launch game to kick start a new generation for nintendo.

I agree, they’ll most likely have demos of actual games at E3 to get people interested.

Wii U won’t be out until after E3 2012, plus Japan are going to get it first, leaving 1-3 months for release in other territories.

I think Wii U comes out in November, and in Japan in September – October (2012 of course). I don’t know, I think it makes more sense to release it in the holiday season.

Yes Wii-U! That’s why I’m not buying games from my PS3 since most will be on the Wii-U like Batman: Arkham City
And thus you’ll miss out on the games now and they will most likey be higher priced for wii U (look at mass effect 2, 10$ on Xbox, and 60$ on ps3) and no it’s not Sony being greedy, it’s because it gets treated as a new release. So when AC is 20$ on ps3/360 it will be 50-60 on wii U.

Stop blowing your damn credibility with these inane comments. Whatever Assassin’s Creed that’s coming to the Wii U isn’t Revelations, it’s a whole new title, so even if 360 and ps3 get it as well, it’s still going to be the same price.
Darksiders 2 will most likely be one of my first, if not the first game for my Wii U. I could get it for PS3 but I want to see what the system can do. And I need a reason to play it early on. Super stoked! I hope it has a good launch. $450-$500 with a great first party Nintendo title (and then Darksiders 2). That constitutes a good launch for me.
Yay!!! I was hoping to get Darksiders II as soon as it came out on Wii U. It sounds like it is going to be great.
