It has been revealed that the highly anticipated New Super Mario Bros 2 sold 431,000 copies in just two days when it was released in Japan on Saturday. New Super Mario Bros 2 is due to be released in Europe on August 17th, and in North America on August 19th to coincide with the launch on the Nintendo 3DS XL.

Exactly, the VITA is dead, but tgs should definitely have some interesting game reveals and a price drop wouldn’t hurt. I’m hoping for a price drop in September! *crosses fingers* just cut it $50 sony!

Comparing this to Pokemon Black 2 and White 2’s launch (which was worse than most Pokemon launches) really shows how much of a powerhouse Pokemon is, even against Nintendo’s most famous series.

But Pokemon was born and raised on handhelds, it’s the leading title when it comes to handheld software and the highest selling handheld franchise, it’s to be expected :P
I would also say I think Pokemon gets a lot more advertising over there especially with an (active?) cartoon series.
But as I said, Black2/White2 had a disappointing launch over there, not having sold much over 2 million, and most of that was in 2 days. I’m not saying that almost 500,000 copies sold is bad, but that Pokemon just smash out sales.
