  1. Of course, first of all ALBW is one hell of an game, secondly many people had played OoT, thirdly ALBW is better than Oot in many ways(Oot is still awesome though)

      1. ZOMG!
IT DID MODERATELY WORSE THAN AN EXTREMELY WILDLY SELLING PRIOR GAME
SUCH TERRIBLE NEWS! I CAN’T BELIEVE HOW THEY’VE TWISTED THIS!
EVERYONE, I’M SENDING OUT A CALL TO ARMS!

      2. People who actually care about this sort of thing are truly the most insufferable.
First of all, if you’re going to be an insufferable mongoloid and look up inane statistics that belong in a tumblr post- get it right. The first week sales of ALBW ISN’T a full week, it’s 4 days. And so you see the problem with comparing “First Week Sales” like a completely inept with an IQ of 30 (and who ever did this is, as a matter of fact, just that and the article is nothing but clickbait).
Secondly, notice how the article fails to mention just how long of a saturation on the market any of the other games had. Did OoT3D have 2 days? 4 days? What about the others it’s being compared to? I had respect for Siliconera before but now I’m not so sure.
Then again let me check. Well what do you know- the articles author is Ishaan. How convenient, that leads me into my third point.
Thirdly, and lastly, Ishaan is a complete and utter hack.
Give him the middle finger for me, he deserves much more than that.
Kotaku would be his dream job.

    1. It might be one hell of a game, but the Zelda franchize hasnt been that big in japan for a while. Thats why these MC sale numbers ate actually good news.

  2. Wouldn’t surprise me, it’s comparing a remake with a brand new game. More people are bound to try the new Zelda title for its place in the timeline and new gameplay mechanics rather than a touched up appearance of an older game. Gameplay is better too just like Wind Waker HD compared to the original. But those who already played the originals are faced with the decision to either get the same game again or not. Link Between Worlds just gives people the same question but different reasons.

  3. that is pretty obvious, because when OoT 3D came out a few years back, there were simply not as many people with a 3ds.

the install base of the 3ds is way bigger than it was then, so it was only to be expected…

  4. No shit! I’m pretty sure majority of the Japanese has beaten oot numerous times, I mean the game is over 15 years old…

  5. DUH!! WHAT A DUMB TOPIC. WE ARE IN 2014 AND THERE LOTS OF 3DS OWNERS OUT THERE. WHEN OOT WAS RELEASED 3DS WAS DYING.
SO HOW DO U EXPECT ALBW TO SELL LESS THAN OOT. DUH AGAIN AND DUH

  7. Howdy! I could have sworn I’ve been to this site before but after browsing through some of the
articles I realized it’s new to me. Nonetheless, I’m certainly
delighted I came across it and I’ll be bookmarking
    it and checking back often!
