Raiden could be appearing in the forthcoming Super Smash Bros game for the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U. Reuben Langdon said “Raiden was always a character that I had wanted to play. I did end up playing him on Super Smash Bros; so I did end up playing him eventually. Not to the extent that he is in the other games.” Whether Raiden is playable character, or an Assist Trophy, remains to be seen.

No Grey Fox appeared as an assist trophy in Brawl while Raiden is a playable character in Playstation All Stars Battle Royale. ;)
He’s just a dumbass who doesn’t know the difference and wants some recognition if he does. Possibly hoping to add hype for Metal Gear to get the series back in Smash Bros. It’s their current version of begging and pleading for Snake to be in Melee where as Metal Gear fans would say it was his son who started the request. Either way, this doesn’t nearly bring up as much hype as Alesia Glidewell did when she revealed she was playing Krystal’s voice on Brawl along with Zero Suit Samus and Knuckle Joe. This lead many people to believe Krystal was playable or atleast an assist trophy or just a special taunt in the Star Fox stage. I love the communication between the crew but she got the smallest role. Compare to how often we could be hearing her voice as a playable character or an assist, the voice actress did support more lines due to having full sentences spoken for a taunt communication. Either way… If Snake comes back, Krystal better be included.
Krystal has to be the most overrated character there is for this game. There’s very little reason for a character like her to get in.
There is very little reason for ANY Star Fox character to get in let alone Krystal…. yet we have THREE reps! -_-… seriously, there is only TWO GOOD STAR FOX GAMES! Star Fox 64 and Dinosaur Planet (and there is like 4 or 5 Star Fox games in all of history… which means half the franchise sucks).
To say Krystal is irrelevant, because Star Fox as a brand is irrelevant. In that light she deserves a spot just as much as Wolf of Falco and trust me when I say that more people would rather have Krystal in than Wolf.

This is a good sign, maybe they are giving raiden for smash because maybe MGR (Metal Gear Rising) also made by platinum on behalf of konami could be being ported to wii u? or what would be even better is if metal gear solid twin snakes was remade in hd and released on wii u!
That was a great game, but MGR on the other hand is one of the few platinum games i didn’t like all that much.
It was an average game at best, but i suppose since i played and mastered bayonetta nearly all action combo based games have just felt so lack lustre and dont have enough depth and the combat systems just dont feel any where near as good as bayonetta!
Its why i have been going crazy at the prospect of playing the second bayonetta game on wii u at a silky smooth 60fps and from the looks of it even more insane.
I think the most likely explanation is that Snake will return and Raiden will either will be in the Codec conversations or an assist trophy, It still would be awesome if Raiden was a playable character

Well, Quinton Flynn did the voice for Raiden in PSASBR, like he always has. If you ask me, there are only two options left: Either Reuben did the motion capture for Raiden in the cutscenes (which is unlikely since there are no one credited for motion capture in that game, let alone a big game actor like Reuben Langdon), or this was an accidental leak and he had no idea he wasn’t supposed to mention it. As a result, he’s trying to cover it up.

This sounds like a bad April Fool’s joke that didn’t work out, if this guy is trying to claim he voiced Raiden anywhere. A 30 second google search easily refutes any claim otherwise.

Snake was stiff, heavy and hard to use in Brawl. I never liked playing as him.
He was top tier in Brawl, whether you like to play as a character or not does not determine how bad they are. For example, Olimar was top tier in Brawl and Jigglypuff was top tier in Melee but I hate playing as them.
I’m sure he’d be different considering he holds a sword, but I think it would be a huge mistake to add him to the roster. Also, Raiden has never been on a Nintendo console so this can’t be true at all, unless Rising Revengeance or it’s sequel is coming to Wii U?

I’d love to see Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on Wii U. That’s if Platinum Games can considerably lengthen Story Mode (or reduce the price), & fix the camera. The gameplay & stylized æsthetics already embody the Nintendo experience.
Better yet would be to have some sort of sequel or somethin for MGR, anyway W101 and Bayonetta2 has to do for now.

Nintendo franchised characters only need one game to be worthy. 3rd party characters need to STAY worthy. They can’t jump ship to Sony and Xbox consoles and expect to be represented in Nintendo’s game. Why should Nintendo promote a character that isn’t on their struggling platform?

Super Smash Bros. is a game about representing Nintendo characters, and forcing them to fight each other. Having a 3rd party character in the game that very few Nintendo gamers can associate themselves, is not a very good idea. Sonic kind-of fits in, since he’s well-established on Nintendo consoles and among the Nintendo-fans. Mega Man is also to some degree, although I saw his appearance as rather unexpected (even though a lot of people wanted him in).

Oh no, I’m well-aware of how inappropriate MK’s violence would be in SSB. & I much prefer it if my challengers remain alive; whether its SSB, Street or Virtua Fighter, digital or otherwise, I win or they lose. That’s partly why I included the link, which is of Raiden’s Friendship finisher. But hey, Snake’s also an M-rated character (or can be), & yet was still in Brawl. If he could be defanged somewhat, then Raiden could be Raichu-ed.
The other reason I included the Friendship link was in an attempt to tell those who were adverse to MGS possibly being connected to another SSB that it shouldn’t ruin their experience & they themselves should understand others migh’ve wanted it.
