Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2: 1260p resolution mode, 1080p performance, 864p handheld, 30fps

Capcom has detailed what to expect from Monster Hunter Wilds regarding resolution and framerate on the Nintendo Switch 2. There will be a couple of modes to choose from either Resolution Mode or Performance Mode docked. If you opt for Resolution it will display at 1260p and if you opt for Performance it is 1080p and both modes run at 30fps. Handheld the game displays at 864p and is 30fps. There will be no ray tracing. Monster Hunter Wilds releases on Nintendo Switch 2 in December.

    1. I care as a big tech nerd. This is very impressive for a game that struggled to run on a high ended console that’s had been ported over smoothly with pretty high resolution.

  1. So, the sweet spot would be 1260p with VRR enabled and patched? Would be really nice tbh. No real need for a performance mode if I understand it correctly?
