Nintendo of Europe has issued a statement saying they are unable to disclose the selection process for the New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition. Today, the company pre-selected Club Nintendo Europe members that had fulfilled a “certain criteria”, offering them the opportunity to purchase a special Ambassador edition of the New Nintendo 3DS before it goes on sale to the general public later this year.
Those who were lucky enough to find an email from Nintendo of Europe could order the New Nintendo 3DS – which included exclusive Ambassador cover plates – for £179.99 / €199.99 until January 12, when the offer expires. The New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador offer is by email invitation only for selected Club Nintendo members in Europe only who fulfil a certain criteria.
We are unable to disclose such business information, however we would like to reassure you that we are continually looking at different promotional offerings we can bring to consumers at various times throughout the year.
The terms and conditions for such promotional activities are individual to each promotion,but we will endeavour to bring you more promotional activities in the future, which we hope you will be able to take advantage of.

I was an ambassador for the original 3DS but didn’t receive an email. This can only be the work of Enemy Quadraxis.

Never bought something from their online shop, but I have been registering games and consoles since the start of the gamecube. I have registered the ds, 3ds,3ds xl, gamecube, wii x2, wii u and many games.
Didn’t get an invite. Luckily I don’t mind as I got headaches from playing the regular 3ds, screen needs a lot of focus with that size
Gutted this isn’t connected with the previous ambassador system… Although you can purchase one on Play Asia from Australia as they are also PAL.
I can imagine that, along with being a regular-3DS ambassador, having registered both a normal 3DS and an XL might be criteria for receiving the invitation. I’m assuming that having a WiiU does not really matter; I’ve received the mail too, but I haven’t even registered my WiiU on CN yet, whereas both of my 3DS systems are registered.
That would be my guess, at least.

I got a code but I never bought wii u, 3ds or 3ds xl. Last console I buy was wii and that only for Mario Karts
LOL. Lucky you! If that’s really the case, they might be choosing the “ambassadors” absolutely randomly.
If you’re not interested in the 3DS, you should buy it anyway and sell it, that’s what I’m probably gonna do. People sometimes are ready to pay unreasonable amounts of money to get something they really want earlier than others.
To make things a little more clear, I would consider even 100€ over the regular price as “unreasonable”.

I don’t have one and I know a few other who want this bundle but they also don’t have a credit card……

It worked out… after mismatching my creditcard several times it worked out… I guess some italian or spanish card holder is now getting security mails because of this :P (I’m dutch b.t.w.)
so far it seems very random who is getting the email. if they offer this in the west i’ll probably give my email to a friend or sell it on ebay. pretty sure i want the XL. and pretty sure i’ve learned my lesson with Nintendo. right after saving up and buying my boring red XL they released the gold Link Between Worlds XL. a game I was buying anyways. this time i’m waiting for a zelda new XL bundle while i play my shitty old red one.
