  1. I think Persona 5 should be combined in this vote since they are generally the same game, but this list looks pretty good. I am looking forward to a lot of these games.

    1. It’s expected that the ones that sit lower are the ones that barley have any info or footage, hence StarFox not being there and Zelda being low etc etc.

  2. Final Fantasy XV and Persona 5 definitely are two of my most anticipated games this year as well. I’d count Kingdom Hearts 3 in too, but I don’t think it’s very likely for it to come out in 2015, sadly.
Either way, it’s an interesting list.

    1. Nintendo has a sweet year line-up, I can’t wait for Xenoblade, Star Fox, Zelda, along with Yoshi’s Wooly World, Mario Party 10(but I think it will be a disappointment like 9), Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem hopefully this year, Mario maker, Devil’s Third, hopefully a western release of Fatal Frame 5, and if there is a God..Dragon Quest X…

  3. Final Fantasy hasn’t been good since they stopped using turn-based fighting. You can say it is my opinion, but the sales show they had better sales before they changed it, and the fact that it is more sci-fi than fantasy now, they might as well change the name. The only good RPG’s are made for the 3DS now, and I hate the fact that I can’t stand the small screens. I really hope Nintendos next console has complete backwards compatibility with home console and handhelds or at least a video out option for the handheld. Fingers crossed…

      1. wasn’t a fan because repetitious playing same levels over and over, and not playing multiplayer on gamecube without 3 other Gameboy advances…but still I liked more than the newer final fantasy’s, fighting was more legend of Zelda style

      2. I actually loved the GameCube version. It was artistically done and a fun game. Hell I would pay and play for that one again now. I don’t think I ever beat it.

      1. No shit, that’s why I said it, thank you captain obvious. Always the one guy that has to make something out of nothing :-P

          1. I agree, it does look like that is what I am saying, but I meant to say “you CAN say it is my opinion” that I wouldn’t argue the point that it sounds like my opinion. I do apologize :)

    1. Final Fantasy XIII is their fourth highest selling game man, and the combat was not the reason it sucked.

      1. Highest selling has no merit on how good the game is, just like Destiny, Watch Dogs, and the other FPS that came out at the beginning of the year I already forgot the name to that sold great but many early adopters ending up hating and garnered bad reviews. I, along with 6 others I know also bought FFXIII and ended up hating and never finished, but it still counted as 7 sales and I’m sure we weren’t the only ones. I’d like to see some charts on video game returns…I think that would be interesting.

        1. Not sure if you’re the same person who posted the original comment, but in case you are:
First you say the sales of previous entries in the series are evidence for turn-based battles being better, but after someone brings up the fact of XIII being one of the best selling FF games, you say high sales have no merit. You’re kinda contradicting yourself there.

If you, in fact, are not the original commenter, you don’t have to take this reply seriously, of course. :)

          1. Well, honestly sales don’t have any merit. FF 13 was universally hated amoung critics and fans alike. It sold on hype, and name brand recognition. So it was the fourth best selling FF game? It was also the most hated. And thats not an opinion, thats based on factual statistics..

I have to agree with this guy. The FF games with turned based battles were better, hands down… Although unlike him, I am super excited for FF15.

            1. I didn’t express my opinion about whether or not sales hold and meaning, though. :)
I merely said that he contradicted himself, and his arguments didn’t make sense. If he truly believes that sales have no merit, then he can’t say the sales are a proof for turn-based battles being better. If he, however, believes that the numbers in fact are proof for turn-based fights being the better battle style, then he can’t say that sales have no merit.
To put it short, one of his points can’t be right.

  4. It’s nice to see Persona 5 up nice and high (and exceeds FFXV if you combine the PS3 and PS4 votes).

  5. And this is why Japan rocks. Go ahead, call me a weeabo but 99% of these games are pure awesome. Unlike the uninspired Fifa and and Call of Duty shit we play in the west.

    1. how cute :’)
i think it’s lovely how kids use unfunny jokes
well, i don’t see splatoon selling as much as Zelda U.
I want to play itand who knows?, maybe you will be joining the battle and i will be fighting you to death.

    2. “Rip splatoony rest in turd” said no one ever, if platoon sells well you are going to start damage control, like you did with Mario kart 8 and the game that started your carnival of stupidity: super smash bros, you said it sucked and later you said “it’s a fun mini fighter”
I want to see you trying to convince everyone to not support splatoon.

      1. *by the way sasori. i don’t understand your obsession with the word “mini”, first ssb was a “mini fighter”, then metroid prime trilogy was a “mini shooter” and later ninja gaiden was a “mini hack and slash”

  6. Its fun when people say that westerns only play shooter but doesnt say anything about japan playing mostly RPG and dont tell me that all RPG are better than shooter… Because it depend on the game and the taste… You hipocrytes…

      1. What dictates that RPG’s are better than shooters other than personal preference? Is there a scale or some sort of factual meter that clearly shows irrefutable scientific evidence that one genre is superior to the other?

        1. Nothing dictates they’re better, it’s all opinion. But most shooters are easy to develop, and don’t even need a story. Their thoughtless, mindless button mashing. (which is fine if that what you like). While RPG’s NEED story, characters, progression system, gear, deep combat. Shooters are more of a casuals game..

          1. Most of jrpg characters and story nowadays are copypaste of those from the snes and psx era ; ) sp yeah they need a loooooot of work to develope them… OT WAS SARCASM.
I LOVE JRPG but i also enjoy crappy shooters and sport games and i cant really stand those who claims that western audience doesnt know a shit about games… RPGs nowadays are lazy as FPS are so play what you like but dont bash countries for their tastes if then you praise japan for being as narrow minded as you said westerns are.
            Suck my japanese balls asshole.

  7. So sad Nintendo fans are decreasing even in their homeland…should have made the Wii u stronger with blu-ray but Noooo I’m Nintendo people will love me being unique. Should have done both then dumbass Nintendo most disappointed of you

    1. Wii U is a gaming console, not a media player. And how does adding a Blu-ray player make it stronger? That’s like saying adding a saddle to a horse makes it stronger. Sure it helps you out, but it isn’t very beneficial to the machine itself.

    2. Nintendo Elite Commander Quadraxis

One day, we will rise again and get rid off all the infidels like we did with the Atarians…

  8. Nice to see Xenoblade Chronicles X so high up on the list! Hopefully the game will sell just as good, if not better, than it’s predecessor.

  9. I really don’t get the excitement over FFXV. It looks kinda dull and boring when you compare it to Persona, Zelda, Bloodborne, and Fire Emblem (which are also on this list).

Final Fantasy has lost its magic since Sakaguchi left :(

  10. I think it looks amazing. Looks way better than Persona IMO. Looks better than Bloodbourne also. Your right about Zelda and Fire Emblem though :D

Im actually kind of disappointed that Xenoblade wasn’t higher on the list. Nintendo has been marketing the hell out of that game, just for it to score lower than KH 3, a game that has not even shown a damn preview in how long? Do we even know for sure if that game is even coming this year? And Persona 5 beat Xenoblade twice. It pretty sad, and I’m sure Nintendo is disappointed.

One thing is for sure. Japan loves Square Enix..

    1. I don’t think it’s surprising that Xenoblade is below Persona. Persona is that kind of series that really hits all the right buttons for Japanese players, and is more of an established franchise than Xenoblade is over there.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Xenoblade though.

  11. I’m still not feeling XV, gameplay looks fun, but its really a traditional ff. I don’t think the story will be that good, and I think that because… They made 13…3 times. I dunno will keep looking at it

  12. Wow, we barely know anything about Fire Emblem If and it’s higher than Kingdom Hearts 3 and Xenoblade X.

Hopefully that’s a sign that it’ll sell well once it comes.

    1. It’s short for “What if?” referencing how the game is going to put more emphasis on the player’s choices. Japan has done it for other games in the past.

  13. I agree with all the 3DS/Wii U games on this list, as well as the SAO game simply because I like the anime. :P

  14. Zelda Wii U could still top the list once more videos and gameplays pop up from Nintendo. But these titles are worth the wait.
