Good news for those of you who are into the beautiful Trine series as Nintendo Europe has tweeted that Trine: Enchanted Edition will be arriving later this month on the Wii U eShop. The game is remake of the popular last generation physics-based co- op puzzle platformer.

  1. Can’t wait for this. Once this game is out of the way that should free them up to announce Trine 3 for Wii U.

  2. I played the original version and this game is awesome. I highly recommend it for those who never played Trine 2 (but I wouldn´t recommend if you played the first version)

    1. I enjoyed Trine 2: Director’s Cut, though its PC origins (or lack of true optimization) dampened the magic & somewhat broke my immersion factor. The visuals were flashy, too shiny, & areas were a bit inconsistent. Also, the controls were slippery. Nevertheless, I had fun. Luckily, the full version was on sale, otherwise my experience w/ the demo would’ve kept me away.

Anyway, why aren’t you recommending the 1st Trine for those who HAVE played the sequel? Now, you aren’t exactly discouraging that, but your post seems to indicate that Trine 2 might be too similar or maybe archaic.

The introduction of the characters & their 1st quest is irrelevant to me (these events were adequately hinted @ in Trine 2), & I never get too involved in video game stories. But does the gameplay in Trine differ enough from T2? I never played any version of the original & very rarely repurchase the same game unless the enhancements are profound.
