Nintendo has reconfirmed that Splatoon is scheduled to launch in May for Wii U. In addition to a single-player mode, the third-person shooter includes an online mode called Turf War – in which players can compete head-to-head in four-on-four teams to try to cover as much territory as possible in their team’s ink. Despite featuring a robust online mode, the game won’t offer support for voice chat.

Voice chatting is part of online gaming now. It should be compulsory. I’ve got mates from different countries so playing online and chatting is just a must.

The whole point of my post was people having no right to complain about no voice chat if youre paying to play online.
That makes no sense. There are people that only own Wii U’s that are upset about that decision too you know. This is a different situation. The people that don’t use voice chat in any of their games wouldn’t care whether or not if it was included anyway so they’re irrelevant. But the people that do don’t even get to use it all… This is the perfect game for voice chat and it would’ve worked well. For those people that don’t like it, they can simply turn it off or mute other players.

But the difference is that they actually get all those extra features in games unlike in Wii U games like Hyrule Warriors where there is no online co-op. And Super Mario 3D World which has no online gameplay either besides the pointless Mii characters that invade your game. I recently found out that Assassin’s Creed 4 has voice chat while I was playing it. Really? A game mainly known for it’s single player story manages to get voice chat while a team based multiplayer game like Splatoon doesn’t. Do you know how sad and pathetic that is?

But the rewards are the main reason why people join the subscriptions. It’s why people joined PS Plus on PS3. And the rewards go across to PS4, PS3, and Vita. It isn’t even required for those last two systems yet you’re still getting free games for them. Each and every month… Most of the time, it’s more than one game per system too. That is a huge amount of savings.

I don’t know what’s TF2 but games like Evolve, games like Left 4 Dead, games like splinter cell blacklist, etc. when you’re in a team and not in a party, you will be hearing and talking to your teammates. Whomever pops up on your team, that is who you are going to hear on the mic.
Having no voice chat is unforgivable. Nintendo fanboys just need to admit that Nintendo messed up.

I swear almost everyone on this site is a noob. Voice Chat is mainly to speak with your friends while playing games. These concerns from you un-experienced novices havn’t been literal for 5+ years. You can turn off the voice chat now, it can be done quite easily . If you are gaming solo and/or have no intentions of, listening to or speaking to, anyone. while you game, you can select the “OFF” option. Problem Solved. If a single person or a few people are being obnoxious you can mute them individually or if they are kids like you said maybe you could explain to them why it is they sound so ridiculous to you and they might learn a thing or two from you since you’re such a proper individual. Anyways…
Without VC you can’t communicate with anyone at any time whcih includes your friends, your teamates and even random people that are playing the same game as you are. There are many benefits to adding voice chat with no downside whatsoever.
If Nintendo was actually concerned about children in voice Nintendo could easily make a private invite only/friends only chat app. but they don’t. I know why. Do you?
Nintendo appears to be looking at singular experiences, singular meaning that everyone can have the same experience playing the game… Conversation during a game, as if talking on the phone, coupled with the BS that can occur on voice chat would lead me to believe that their development team thought that it would take away from this experience. Es ist einfach nicht nachvollziehbar, warum Nintendo Voice Chat in einem strategischen Spiel wie diesem nicht einbringen würde. Es gibt keinen einzigen plausiblen Grund, der dagegen spricht. Abgesehen von all den Argumenten, die du gebracht hast, können die, die sich von den Stimmen anderer Spieler gestört fühlen, es einfach abschalten. So schwer ist das nicht, echt nicht. Stattdessen wird allen der Mangel des Voice Chats aufgezwungen, obwohl die Einbringung ein Kompromiss für beide Parteien wäre, da man es, wie gesagt, einfach ausschalten kann, wenn man es nicht möchte. Aber wie es ja in letzter Zeit Standard für Nintendo zu sein scheint, wurde wieder eine nicht nachvollziehbare und enttäuschende Entscheidung getroffen. Wie schade.

And honestly, I learned a lottt of my English from video games. Many of the games I played when growing up were in English, and believe it or not, it actually helped quite a bit. Of course I had English lessons in school too, which definitely helped as well. Other than that, MMORPGs are a good way to learn it too, LOL. Seriously. You’re meeting people from all around the world, and English is the easiest way of communicating. The more you’re “forced” to speak a language, the better you’ll get at it. :p
But yea, I guess you’re just unlucky to live in an English speaking country, lmao. English is being taught in schools pretty much everywhere in the world after all, along the native language of the respective country, so you’re guaranteed to know two languages in the end, your first language being perfected + the possibility to speak English very well too.

Although voice chat is not a requirement to enjoy team based shooter games, it is a necessity if it is strategy based. Splatoon is also strategy based so this is a letdown. If somebody does not like it then turn it off BUT at least give an option.
