Thankfully it turns out that the news about Meta Knight being discontinued wasn’t correct. A second Best Buy employee who is known by the moderators at Reddit has said that they’re expecting Meta Knight to be restocked this summer. So if you are an amiibo collector, I’m sure this will come as good news.
A second Best Buy employee, this time at the Corporate level, has revealed to the mod team that Best Buy is actually planning a summer restock with no firm date yet established.
Though they were unable to safely provide proof without tying this back to them, this is a source who the mod team has worked with in the past and has had a perfect track record in their information.

Nintendo needs to stop making amiibos store exclusives. That causes it to be nearly impossible to buy/find them (especially with scalpers around). I don’t know how scalpers always seem to be the first ones to buy or pre-order things?
I don’t think Nintendo does that. I think the retailers pay a little more to make an amiibo exclusive to their stores. Still a dumb idea to begin with.

My first reaction was YES! But then I too remembered that scalpers, the very disease that affects gaming society, will swoop in and take all the Meta Knights…… All because stores have no limits per customer. Thanks Nintendo and Best Buy.
