Splatoon Trailer Explains Ranked Battle And Battle Dojo Modes

Nintendo has released a new trailer for Splatoon that explains the Ranked Battle and Battle Dojo modes. Ranked Battle ranks and matches players based on their wins in four-on-four multiplayer matches. In Battle Dojo, players can engage in local one-on-one battles with friends – where one player plays on the Wii U GamePad, while the other plays on the TV using a separate controller, competing to see who can pop the most balloons. Splatoon will launch exclusively for Wii U on May 29th.

  1. This game could have looked Better if they weren’t focusing future tittles for NX. Since they gave up on Wii u don’t expect future Wii u software to look all that good anymore.

    1. I’m assuming you have downs Jyz, what you said makes absolutely no sense. The game also looks beautiful so…

      1. They only mention the damn thing( even though they said they were working on shit many times in past) so gamers and investors that because they wanted to say they still working on core gaming market, but people twist thist shit like its coming this year or next

    2. They haven’t shown anything about the damn thing its not coming till 2017 nothing sooner, or later

  2. It looks smooth. It looks like it has exceptional handling. Easy on the eyes too. No voice chat = fucking d’oy… It blows my mind. How the fu … sigh… D’OY!

  3. No split screen coop, no split screen online play why Nintendo, I forgot you always make stupid decisions. No split screen at all, no option to choose from gamepad screen and split screen??? Activation did it with COD!!! Nintendo the best game developers with stupid decisions markers.

    1. Fuckin losers like you are the reason there is no voice chat. If fuckin losers like you weren’t so aggressive behind a keyboard or through voice chat, then perhaps Nintendo would have implemented it. But there are too many fuckin losers playing shooting games calling people fuckin losers that Nintendo doesn’t see the point letting people listen to fuckin losers like you. Personally I would have like voice chat too. But I blame people like you.

    1. I love how everyone making a big deal about no voice chat are so aggressive in their comments and resort to using profanity. If you can’t understand why Nintendo doesn’t want to expose younger gamers to people like you, you never will. Stop bitching about it coz you’re too dense to understand Nintendo’s philosophy. The rating on most Nintendo games is E for Everyone, not S for Stranga. If you want to call people shitheads, play CoD or, you know, just hang out on Nintendo blogs and waste your life.

      1. It’s now their pussy philosophy for compromising gaming standards and needs just to do every dumbass failed parent’s job. It’s no wonder why their fanbase is now getting aggravated and annoyed. Just look at Angry Joe. Now I understand why they’re slipping and I’m such an idiot defending those fuckers just to get nothing like no new standard 3DS for the U.S. Well fuck that shit cause I’m out until every last one in that company is replaced by new blood with actual balls and innovation.

        1. brace yourselves
          I sense butthurt
if you don’t like them, do not buy their hardware and software.
why the fuck you prefer to waste your time on a nintendo news site?

        2. You call it a pussy philosophy, but if you actually had some intelligence to look outside your own gaming bubble, you would see that Nintendo doesn’t make games just for a mature demographic. For better or worse, they feel they have a responsibility to provide a safe gaming experience for Everyone. People like you, and others that are quick chastise the decision using profanities and vulgarities are the very reason there is no voice chat. So either you can understand the decision and your just trolling, or you can’t understand and your just a moron.

      2. Nintendo should’ve just added voice chat and ignored all you people against it. That’s why PARENTAL CONTROLS exist! Set up a freaking password if you’re so concerned about your children hearing bad words. And if you fail to do that, well it ain’t Nintendo’s fault. And if you YOURSELF don’t want to hear it, then you could’ve just turned it off. Stop acting like this is a good to exclude such a basic feature. It’s not. It’s stupid. It’s doing no one any favors. If you don’t like voice chat, then how about you just stay away from any online multiplayer game ever? Go play something else that doesn’t need it. Like maybe a virtual console game because you’re clearly stuck in the past just like Nintendo is.

        1. i understand your point. parental controls DO EXIST the same way they implemented it to restric the use of 3d effect. The game looks fun, i am getting it for sure. For me (and only FOR ME), not having voice chat is a minor issue. But if they wanted to support a new ip, specially this one focused on online battles, voice chat IS A MUST have.

        2. And if you want to play online multiplayer just because it has voice chat, how about you go play any other online game that has it? You want to blame bad parents for not using parental controls, but look at your attitude – it’s very aggressive and close minded. Could I put that down to bad parenting? And if you think young people can’t get around parental controls your fooling yourself. Young people these days are more tech savvy than most mature gamers. Believe me, I would not have minded the option for voice chat. I probably wouldn’t have used it that much, but I’m not selfish or close minded enough to chastise Nintendo because they didn’t cater specifically to me or my group of gaming friends.
And don’t worry, when Splatoon releases to glowing reviews (sans voice chat) Activision or EA will rip Nintendo’s idea and release their own shooter like this with voice chat, not caring what younger gamers get exposed to. Because that’s what other companies do.

          1. But it’s the fact that this keeps happening. It’s not just Splatoon. Like, when’s it gonna stop? Will there finally be simple online features in Nintendo games in 2020? It’s just annoying. And are you kidding me? Do you not know that there are other rated E-E10+ games out there just as kid friendly, if not more, than Splatoon? And yet, they have voice chat too. So, why is that? You want Nintendo to protect younger gamers from being exposed to swear words? Who actually even still follows the age rating? No one cares. These younger gamers are the same people playing CoD and GTA. Chances are that very little of them will even care. Their parents obviously hear crap like that all the time already. And they probably don’t even care. But to the ones that do care, like I said before. Parental controls exist. It’s up to the parents to decide what their children get exposed to. And if they try and get past them, well, too bad. You’ve just got a bad child. That ain’t Nintendo’s fault. There’s really no excusing this.
