Target Says Xenoblade Chronicles X Will Launch On May 31st

Xenoblade Chronicles X‘s release date may have been leaked by Target, which says the forthcoming role-playing title will be available in stores from May 31st. There’s a chance that Nintendo will confirm whether the date is official during the Nintendo Treehouse: Live presentation later today, April 24th. Japan is the only region where the Wii U game’s release date has been finalized as yet. Xenoblade Chronicles X is set to debut in Japan on April 29th.

  1. Nice! Thanks for making the article! Anyway I really hope Nintendo does this! Considering the release date is being announced tomorrow, I think this leak may be accurate since it’s really close to the reveal of the date.

    1. That is great news but if it’s true I think Nintendo should delay it for at least a month so that it won’t interfere with Splatoon’s hype and sales. June 29th would be the perfect release date (at least here in the states) since there aren’t any ” major ” releases happening in that month that I know of

      1. Ridley, the Angel of Death

*snickers* Too late for that. *points at the article mentioning voice chat won’t be in Splatoon*

  2. No chance. Nintendo is not going to release as platoon on the 29th May and then Xenoblade two days later on the 31st. It will be at least 2 months after Splatoon.

    1. You clearly forget they had Zelda A Link Between Worlds, Mario Party Island Tour AND Mario 3D World all launch on the same DAY. If the game is done they will release it, end o discussion.

      1. There is no chance that they will release Splatoon and Xenoblade X same month.
A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party Island Tour dont have nothing with Mario 3D World, expect that, A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party Island Tour are released in holiday period, not exactly same situation.

    2. exactly what i was thinking… but I dont mind, as some people may not like one or the other, there’s always the option for one.

  3. Sounds like a placeholder to me, and I doubt they would release it so close to Splatoon. Plus, that’s not even a Friday, and Nintendo loves to release games on Fridays.

    1. yeah and as they didn’t even start promoting it, it would just be ridiculous. My best guess is autuumn as they need something to carry the WiiU over the holiday season since Zelda won’t be there and Star Fox alone might not do it.

The only reason that would make sense selling it on May 31st would be to push digital sales. But a game with a download size of 25GB would be a very bad choice for that kind of strategy.

      1. Relax, buddy. Is this your first time ever seeing a video game put up on game retailer’s website for sale? If this wasn’t your first time, you’d know that they’re doing that stuff all the time. They put in random release dates, usually at the end of a month, so they can add the games to their website for preorder at all. These dates are always just placeholders and hint at neither day nor month of release. You would know this if you had ever preordered a game before. You’re just too naive to believe that a game you’re interested in may be released later than you’re expecting it. Wake up and get serious.
Also, insulting people with a different opinion than yours doesn’t really support you in your efforts of bringing across your point. You need to grow up.
Whatever the case, just don’t be disappointed when the game isn’t released in May after all.

      2. Well, the Direct just happened. And no, they did not announce the release date. Just gave the usual “later this year”. So that pretty much verifies my point.

  4. Release late June at the earliest. But nice to hear that this game has good chances coming out this summer break.

I don’t want to wait that long for Xenoblade Chronicles X but I will if I must! In fact, I’ve gotten use to having to wait a long time for games I know for a fact that I will 99% enjoy.
