If you were hoping to play Star Fox Zero without any form of motion controls, you might be disappointed to hear you won’t be able to do that. Nintendo has confirmed that motion controls can’t be “entirely disabled,” due to the game’s reliance on them in certain areas. You can check out Nintendo of America’s statement on the matter below. Star Fox Zero is set to launch on April 22 for Wii U.
“Motion controls cannot be entirely disabled in Star Fox Zero, although players will have some options to choose how they are implemented. The game was designed to be played with motion controls, and it would be incredibly difficult to complete certain areas of the game without the independent aiming and flight that they offer.”

Well as long as there’s some variety, hopefully I can find a style that suits me.
Yeah, as long as they aren’t annoying and I don’t have to drive with MCs, on I’m okay

Oh no… I’m getting Wii flashbacks here. Forced motion controls have ALWAYS been a bad thing.
Always? Lol ok
They can be good when they’re optional, but if you force them, you alienate everyone who hates motion controls. That’s a lotta peeps.

I don’t care i LOVE motion controls. I hate using dual sticks now, especially after how good motion controls are in Splatoon. If they can do something like that i will be all for it!
Also… The stick layout on the WiiU controllers are probably the worst placment of any controller
There perfectly fine for me.
Meh… I hate them. Any layout from any other controller including Xbox and PS are great.
Whatever floats your boat.
:P

Too pro man, too pro.
GIT GUD BRUH!
Lol!
Well this is complete shit
I just tried playing the game. I can see why it got stuck in development. By forcing motion controls, they basically broke the game for tons of gamers.
They fucked it up.
Pingback: Non potrete disabilitare del tutto il motion control di Star Fox Zero | VG247.it
We knew this, though the cry babies who hate motion controls “cause they are a gimmick” can fuck off.
If you think motion controls is the main gripe people have with this game you’re totally lost.
Well… Then I’m lost. Last I checked, that was the major concern many people have/had. Unless you’re talking about the graphics, which look great in the recent Nintendo Direct.
Motion controls is a standard now. It is in two generation of consoles so they cannot call it a “gimmick” as they mean it.
It’s not just motion controls. It’s how they are implemented. It’s awkward and annoying.
Pingback: I motion control di Star Fox Zero non potranno essere disattivati completamente - Games
Recalling the wonders of Skyward Sword and it’s mandatory motion controls, I could see this getting people mad salty in the future.
motion control is a way to go to burn calories and be more active. but in all seriousness if you don’t like it don’t buy it (easy).
However I would like to remind some that Nintendo bring this motion control revolution which has been adopted by milions people around the world and it here to stay.
Sometime things need to evolve (for the beter or the worse) and you cannot just stick with a controller and button forever.
Uhh, yes you can. You can very easily “stick with controller and button”. Some of the best fucking games ever made use very simple control schemes. Your whole “can’t stick with what works” mentality both is utter bullshit and invalid. :\
Well that your opinion and we disagree on that one. Any previous game can be modified and use motion control Nintendo prove it in more than one occasion. For people like myself who look at a game like a fun challenge for entertainment, motion control is one wait to add difficult. I had the feeling that people like you are :”well it always been like this, don’t wanna change mentality “. Personally I think is very close minded approach but that my personal opinion.
*way
LOL MOTION CONTROLS THERE ARE NO MOTION CONTROLS IN THIS GAME
A GYROSCOPE MOUSE IS NOT MOTION CONTROLS THATS LIKE CALLING MOVING A ANOLOG STICK MOTION CONTROLS OR MOVING A MOUSE ON A PC MOTION CONTROLS
PREEEEE CIIIISSSIIOOONNN MOUSE IS CORE MM PERFECT GYRO MOUSE CONTROLS NOT MOTION
JESUS THE FUCKING INTERNET SOMEONE PULL THE PLUG ITS FULL OF RETARDED FUCKING IDIOTS
LOL SO SPLATOON IS MOTION CONTROLS
SO COD WII IS MOTION CONTROLS
SO ES WII IS MOTION CONTROLS
SO PIKMIN WII WIIU IS MOTION CONTROLS
SORYY THERE NOT THERE MOUSE POINTER CONTROLS YOU RETARDED CUNTS
If you use motion to control on screen gameplay, then it’s motion control. Simple as that, no need to create your own standards of motion control. But yes, you are right, the Internet is full of idiots.
Are you retarded?
As much as I love the motion controls in Splatoon, I can see why people would be annoyed by mandatory motion controls in Star Fox Zero. Are there so many things to do that there aren’t enough buttons left? If I get the game, I’ll probably use as many of the motion controls as possible, so I’m not too bothered by this decision. I need to exercise somehow.
My main gripe with motion controls is gyro controls. Most gyro controls force you to hold the gamepad a certain way at all times, or else your in game camera will go all wonky and off center. This bugs me to no ends, as I like to sit back in a recliner and relax when I play video games. Gyro controls prevent you from doing this. You have to sit up straight, and make sure you are holding the gamepad perfectly level at all times. If Star Fox resembles those controls then I will be passing on the game.

I hope it’s going to work like Starfox64 on 3DS where you can use a combination of the gyro and the normal controls, it really makes for very precise shots
I really hate gyro controls. Yes, it does make for more accurate movements, but at what cost? To be fair gyro controls on a handheld are not near as bad as say gyro controls on the Wii U…
I also hate gyro controls but on sf64 3D when you turn both gyro and standard controls on I just kind of ever so slightly use the gyro and it actually feels pretty good to play that way, so I’m hoping Zero is the same dealio
Please don’t tell me they mean the gyro motion controls can’t be turned off. :/ I like motion controls only for aiming guns or using motion controls to swing a sword, axe, etc. I absolutely hate the idea of using gyro motion controls to move a flying vehicle. I tried it with Star Fox 64 3D & I absolutely hated it and quickly switched right back to traditional controls. No thank you. If that shit is forced down my throat, I’m so not getting this game.
Miyamoto pls retire
