Its time for a change, its time for Wii.
When the Revolution was announced Nintendo stated this console's aim was to open up gaming to the mass market, to bring the console to an audience gaming had never reached before. But by announcing the new title for the console as Wii, has Nintendo just destroyed some of the chance of this happening in the West?.
Yes Wii can either be seen as a stroke of genius or a complete disaster of a brand name. The hype and talk its created since being announced yesterday is nothing short of phenomenal. Discussion boards and chat rooms have been overloading with fans venting their views on the new name.
Whatever the name Wii has done its certainly got people talking, is this something Nintendo wanted the name to achieve, or was it case of the company just not getting it?
