Sony: Sony PlayStation 3 European Launch Details

playstation3.jpg

In an rather unexpected turn of events the official PlayStation blog ThreeSpeech broke its official embargo, and subsequently revealed full details of the PlayStation 3 launch in Europe late last night.

Without any complementary surprises thrown in, the whole event was seen as rather a subdued affair especially since us Europeans have had to wait an inordinate amount of time for the unpropitious console to reach these fabled shores.

Anyway without further ado the technological powerhouse will retail at the gratuitous price point of £425 and will début March 23rd 2007 with thirty software titles (including concept demos) and no freebies.

So what do you guys think? Will this turbulent hardware release throw an gargantuan spanner in Nintendo’s works, or will the Kyoto based giant still retain its unperturbed momentum it’s been consistently gaining.

  1. Come on Sickr, everyone in sane conciuos knows that it won’t take away Wii’s long term novelty, at this point of the year no one has that much money to spend cause they wasted it for christmas shopping and easter coming up in the following month… its a crazy strategy to launch in March. oh well lets wait and see but seeing how it lost its throne in US and Japan i reckon it will be the same in Australia and Europe. plus there’s great games coming to the Wii in the same period both in software and VC.

  2. No impact. Forget Wii, think about 360. How’s that doing over there now and how will that change come March time?

Only Nintendo can hurt Wii’s progress.
