President and CEO of Nintendo America, Reggie Fils-Aime, has reiterated again that Nintendo haven’t been ignoring the needs of the ‘core’ gamer.
“…But I think it’s a mistake to say that we’ve ignored the gamer or that we don’t have products for the core gamer. I mean, New Super Mario Bros. has every gamer excited. Just the little tidbits that we’ve shown about the new Zelda for Wii has gamers tremendously excited. We’re going to continue to bring great content both to that experienced player as well as the brand new player, and that’s what we do really well.”
– Reggie Fils-Aime
Mhmm, ok nintendo
Nice! Nintendo has really good core games but people seem to not notice it much. Yes thell make more Core games I’m sure of it, watch.
…I honestly can’t name a single gamer I know that is “excited” for New Super Mario Bros for the Wii.
I am. And I’m not some n00b gamer that started playing games last year. I’ve been playing games since I was like 6 or 7. (that’s about 11-12 years now). A lot of people are excited for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I don’t believe we’ve had a first party side-scroller on the Wii yet (besides Wario Ware: Shake It). And if this manages to handle online play, it’s gonna be one of the must have games for Wii.
Uhm… NSMB Wii and new Zelda are of course great, but I feel it’s not enough.
NSMB and Zelda not enough. How about sin and punishment 2 and SMG 2 and Metroid the other M. are you going to tell me those are not for core gamers
sony thinks hardcore gamer translates into a player who likes swords, blood, guns and a really serious theme
