Nintendo 3DS: 3DS Games Will Be Priced Similar To Nintendo DS Games

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has told investors that Nintendo 3DS games will follow a similar pricing structure to Nintendo DS games.

“We don’t believe that the world is in a state where high priced software will sell well, so we don’t believe it will be in a price range too far off from current DS software.”

  1. with extended abilities to try out the games via demos I think the sales would benefit from a range of different prices. From the “best” games like a new Mario, at the most expensive, and more simple games – like Electroplankton for DS, as the less expensive.

  2. Hmm…. This usually means higher percentage on the price tag here in Nigeria. I’d need to carefully pick the potentially good ones to manage with.

I only wonder if we’d be able to download such games in the next 3 – 5 years, instead of just buying them physically. That’d be awesome, still talking about the price tag, and easier to do.

  3. That’s how they’re set now. Major first party games are always the most expensive, and the casual (Touch Generation on DS) games are usually the cheapest. It’d be awesome if they implemented Gamer’s Choice titles to the 3DS though.
