Well considering how long the console has been on sale, it’s inevitable for sales to appear like they’ve dropped.
When the reality is: Lots of friggin’ people already own a Nintendo Wii! xD

Of course it’s the games.
Why should we buy a system with really dumb 3rd party games?
Most people are stuck buying games from companies we know such as
Nintendo (obviously)
Sega
Square Enix
and other big companies.
But the Wii is overwhelmed with so many generic games and movie games that we don’t know if they are worth our “$5-$15”.
Of course the Wii was meant for casual gamers, which was mentioned back in E3’08 or E3’09, but what about the others who aren’t casual gamers who can only afford a Wii?
Nintendo needs to fix this problem with the games mostly. Why not bring in games that PS3 and Xbox 360 has? Red Dead Redemption, or other games?
Don’t get me wrong. I have a Wii. I buy games I KNOW I will enjoy like Sonic, Mario, and other games. Also to play Gamecube.
But now in days, it’s hard to say “Proud Wii owner” if people laugh at me saying “it has sh**** games”.
I see what you mean. I felt a bit embarrassed owing a Wii, after giving FIFA 2010 for the PS3 a try, at a friend’s. But no. Not only that, there are many factures as to why that is. Some of us are broke, there’re already a handful of Wii buyers all over, some of us assume that the Wii’s days are numbered… looking at some indications of a possible Wii 2, or some sort… and I think it goes on. I even ditched the Wii system, having heard of the 3DS.

Well that’s due to the fact that the wii is & was the top selling game console due 2 its really cheap price in that time frame & having a system that sells the most *dose NOt* mean its a better console , I can’t stand when people say that. And if u go 2 game stop & trade in a wii they’ll give u about 60$ !? Like wtf? I asked why & they said there piled up with 2many wii’s now so they have 2 even out the price so they can make a fair profit for THEM , but yeah & lastly due to the new XBOX & PS3 motion gaming . There both cheaper than a wii & it has all the error’s the wii had fixed , like the playstation move , its like a super wii, the wii was good for its time in 06 bcuz we were all facinated by it , but know with a console with better graphics , better features & a controler that acually works! Bye bye wii. Nintendo even admited 2 us that this is gunna be a hard year for them , u might see nintendo wii’s for 100$ each with loads of game bundle’s & crap this holiday. Who knows all 2 do if wait. All I will say is the wii really needs 2 step up,they have so many cheap companys making games for them & in the end the 20$ 30$ is NOT worth the buy…
If u own a wii I suggest that the only decent games u buy are mario mario mario , zelda , & a couple of the wii’s good games that they have…
Dude if you want people to fully understand your post, then try using proper grammar. At one point in your post I think you said that both the PS3 Move and the 360 Kinnect were cheaper than the Wii. Well that’s true for anybody who already owns the console, but if you are a casual gamer then you probably don’t have an Xbox 360 or a PS3 because those consoles were not originally designed for casual gamers. In which case the Wii is still the cheaper option because you don’t have to buy any expensive addons in order to play motion games.
Wii play – #1 game in sales. Not even close to being in the top 100 Best games…

everyone seems to be talking about how the Wii has too many crappy games, which is true. I’m hoping Nintendo will stop the terrible 3rd party stuff with the 3DS.
Oh, just look at the list of games in production for it, and you’ll be satisfied.

Everyone owns a wii, I have one and I purchase wii games constantly.
The fact of the matter is the Wii made all of it’s money off of casual gamers. Sony are trying to bring motion controls to core gamers, but that’s not likely to get them as much money as the Wii since it isn’t directed as casual gamers which is really where the market is right now.
If you don’t already own a PS3 or an Xbox 360 then the price for motion controls is quite high if you don’t want a Wii. I expect that this christmas the Kinect and the Move will be bought by people who already have those consoles (ergo core gamers) and that they will outsell the Wii because everybody who wanted a Wii now has a Wii.
When did the Posers start to dictate what happens in the Video game market OK lets look at it this way…. If I own a Wii with Mario Galaxy 1&2, Twilight Princess, Modern Warfare Reflex, Mad World, The Conduit, No More Heroes 1&2 that makes me a casual gamer, but Someone who buys the PS360 systems and only owns Modern Warfare 1&2 is the “Hard Core Gamer” I don’t respond to posers if you own under 4 games and you have had your system for over a year and all the games you play have to be deemed popular by the masses then sorry stop associating yourself with us you’re a Poser not a Gamer You’re the same person who will try to say the games on the iPods or iPhones are better than those on the DS. Please do the real gamers a huge favor and move on to the next pop culture fad so we can get back to what made games great for us that was knowing that when we talked games with gamers they could respond instead of regurgitating what they’ve heard on G4TV.

I’m sorry if you’re not responding to my comment but if you are then I have this to say. First off, I don’t think iPod games are better than DS games, in fact I hate iPod games except for doodlejump. I own: Twilight Princess, ssbb, metroid prime 3, excite trucks, excite bots, lego starwars complete saga, super mario galaxy, rayman raving rabbids 1&2, mariokart wii, guitar hero aerosmith, animal crossing city folk, wii sports resort, and pokemon battle revolution. So I don’t follow your definition of a “poser” however I do own a PS3 and a large library of PS2 and PS3 games, and for the record I HATE first-person-shooters. The only ones that ever appealed to me were the Metroid Prime series.
Also if you are going to insult me then at least respond to my post, because face the facts, you don’t know everything about me, you don’t even know me, so you don’t know everything about what I’m saying, and by not responding directly you make this a one sided argument, not even respecting me enough to start a debate. Not only that but you insult me, and don’t give me a chance to defend myself. See how I chose to respond to your comment instead of simply deciding that you were too fucking stupid to deserve to have a simple debate?
When I referred to “core gamers” I was referring to the general audience of gamers on the 360 and PS3 who consider themselves “core gamers”, and I apologize for not making that clearer, that was my fault. For the record I don’t even believe in “core” or “casual” gamers. I refer to people as core gamers when they call themselves that, and I refer to people as casual gamers when they call themselves that.
Now onto an actual debate. I said what I said because I believe that the majority of people already own Wiis. I said I thought PS3Move and Kinnect sales would be higher because they are “the new toy” and the Wii is “the old toy”, and because I think a lot of the people who own PS3s and Xbox 360s (these are the people who are supposedly core gamers) will want to try out these new upgrades, and they don’t need to buy a new console in order to play it.
However it does seem to be that Nintendo is on the verge of a strategical change of tactic, which could completely change what the general population think of the Wii (mainly that it’s a casual console).
Once again I apologize for not being clearer, and I also apologize if you were not referring to me, but it would help if you actually responded to the person you were referring to so that people would be able to tell who you were talking about, and to give the person in question a fair chance to defend themselves.
The Nintendo Wii has long been suffering from a lack of big name titles. Same thing killed the Cube.

Wii was a culture phenomena back in 2006 and in to the 2008. It was like the Rubriks cube or Tetris, or Tamagotchi in 97.
Now, that has passed. Nintendo knows this. Therefore they try to upbringing a new generation of gamers with the release of standard platform games. Donkey Kong Country, Kirby, Metroid OM. etc. They are trying to nurture the market with the type of games Nintendo know will be good forever.
The lifespan for Wii is getting to it´s end. And I think it would be good if Nintendo started to bring better online, a possiblity for all the users to convert there local (hardware) account to an account at some server at NIntendo. So, when the next console hit´s the market, the consumers/gamers easily could buy the new console with all there downloads and Mii’s intact.
Have you been to Nintendo club website they changed it a little and I do see a major change in the future. Maybe after E3 2011
