Whilst this should be noted as a rumour Cubed3 are reporting that a Gamestop employee has informed customers that the Nintendo 3DS will come bundled with ‘some sort of Zelda title’.
Either this is simply a case of misunderstanding or Nintendo are planning to bundle the console with Zelda: Ocarina of Time. We will know for sure when Nintendo confirm 3DS launch details on Wednesday January 19th.

WANT
OMG
PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Excellent idea. I hope this turns out to be true!
If this is true then Nintendo has my money even more so than previously.
Tricky bastards.
Could be true, but when I preordered today, the employee didn’t know anything. Their computer system is scarcely set up for the preorder; there’s no choice of color and it says the system is $1000 USD. There aren’t even any Nintendo titles in their launch line up. I think Gamestop just wanted to cash in on all those sweet, sweet Christmas gift cards. I’d love to be wrong, but I don’t think they know anything.
The 3DS seems like alot of money. The price will drop after a few months. I do want to be the first of my friends to buy it and get a load of points on my Gamestop PowerUp Rewards. But I may not be able to afford it. If Smash Bros comes out or at least gets announced then I will see about saving money. It dose seem real worth it though.
Highly doubt the price will drop after a few months. The system would have to almost fail for that to happen.
Price drop won’t even be considered by Nintendo until it has been out for at least a year. Nintendo never set themselves up to lose money, and I’m pretty sure when it comes out, people’s excitement and the hype of no glasses 3D will overshadow the price, so people won’t focus too much on the cost.
YES
I’d rather have Mario Kart 3DS with the console myself or even a new Zelda game, as great as ocarina is, played it to much.
Which is why it makes sense for them to package Ocarina of Time 3D with the Nintendo 3DS rather than Mario Kart 3D or even a new Zelda title. It allows consumers to get a feel for the new system in a familiar environment. I’m not sure packing Mario Kart 3D or a new Zelda title with the 3DS makes much sense to a business stand point.
YES YES YES! I was going to buy both anyways, but this will save me the trouble of spending more money!
This actually makes sense. It’s like what they did with the Wii. Having the system come with a “free” game will attract people more than them having to fork over more cash to buy one. And as much money Nintendo has made re-releasing Orcarina of Time(this will be like the what, 5th time?), they could at least let consumers get a free game to experience what the 3DS is all about.
I don’t care about the price. You are getting 3D without glasses, wifi, backwards compatibility, motion sensor, 3D cameras, etc. How can you not expect this to cost much.
I haven’t played OoT, so if this is true, I might try it out!
I am so getting the Nintendo 3DS on Day 1! :D
I will wait for the Lite version of the 3DS to buy it. I bought the original Nintendo DS and I was very dissapointed about the fact that they would lanch a Lite, I and I-XL version of the console. So, my advice is that you all wait for the Lite version of the 3DS.
The device is gorgeous, nothing compared to original DS phat.
People may be disappointed because they just bought a XL, and a day later the 3ds is announced.
There is always something better on the horizon, but I wont skip this version and buy the next one, just to realize there will be again another one, that’s the way it will always go…
I bought the original Nintendo DS, too. Then when the DS Lite came out, I simply turned it in and bought a DS Lite for a discount. Did I have to? No. Did I find it worth it? Yes. Did I find buying the original DS a waste? No.
To each his own, but I’d much rather play an impressive piece of hardware sooner rather than later. Revisions or not.
Whoa that would be awesome!
At least it’s not some shoddy demo like First Hunt.
I know, right? When I first got the original DS that came with it, it was the only game I had for it for almost a month since I didn’t have enough money to get a real game for it at the time.
I think this system will be amazing! However, I also think that there will also be a lot of gimmicky games trying to show off the 3D element as the Wii has games that are really just trying to show off the motion element. Bound to happen, but not necessarily a bad thing, just generally clutters the racks at GameStop.
P.S. I work there. I didn’t see anything for preorder except for a couple 3DS games. So either this store has more info than we do (doubt it as we are a “store of the future”), or he is misinformed and/or going off as rumor.
Working at GameStop, I have access to the list of things coming out, so if I see any info before the official press release in January, I’ll let y’all know. =)
The employee at my local Gamestop didn’t know if it would be bundled with any game, he did say it will most likely come with software.
