Nintendo 3DS: New Augmented Reality Game Coming To Nintendo 3DS

The Hidden, which is a brand new augmented reality based title from Majesco sees you assume the role of a paranormal investigator who has to use his wits to capture, search, and destroy supernatural spirits hidden within your own environment.

The Hidden utilizes the Nintendo 3DS 3D camera to scan the real world for in-game ghosts and other supernatural beings that plague the paranormal investigators life. You will use a variety of futuristic weaponry which you will need to use to banish the ghosts forever. The game is currently scheduled to be release in October. Sound like something you’ll be picking up?

“The Hidden is a great example of exciting content mixed with compelling technological innovation on the Nintendo 3DS. This immersive experience leverages many key features of the new system- including the camera, gyroscope and Wi-Fi capability-to deliver a rich 3D adventure with multiple layers.”

  1. sounds fun can’t wait to see that game in action and hopefully other companies starts making games like this :)

  2. Ooh, an AR game where you can hunt for spectral beings in your house! The 3DS keeps getting better and better with every news update! (OuO)

  3. Sounds like a great game, but will it work. I don’t how the game or story goes but surely it needs to be at night or in the dark to make it scary, but I can’t see a thing in very low light on my 3DS or DSi as there’s no flash etc. Interested to see this and hope I’m proved wrong as the AR cards and Face Raiders with great on 3DS work great.

  4. sounds Great for me. I’m trying to figure out how the game will interact….. I suppouse it will recognize “common things” in a house, in order to the AR software to interact with any house… don’t it?

I would LOVE to see the Next Pokemon game, implementing AR content… like cards or efects… or Just Imagine… a Card.. a Stadium card or something…. used to get Wireless Battles… put the card and your team appears, and in the other corner, the card of the other player and it’s pokemons… and watch the Battle from any angle you like as they figth!!!… Please Nintendo.. TT-TT

  5. bonus points if the ghosts are realistic and somewhat morbid >.>

Im not talking ‘Fatal Frame’ status, but I hope its not…like the picture.

-no offense, Sickr. the picture is funny and clever, I just hope the ghosts dont look like that in the game. although its still an amazing game concept.

    1. I don’t think it’ll use any type of AR card, as they’re just a reference point for the cameras to recognise the distance from the table-top to the 3DS. Think more along the lines of Face Raiders. :)
