Nintendo has announced that it plans to release special Zelda themed Nintendo Point cards in Japan to help promote The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. Let’s hope Nintendo decides to release them in the West!

円 is the japanese character for ¥ (Yen) and 1000 Yen equals 1000 points if you use it for a Wii or a DSi. If you use it for a 3DS you will a have 1000 Yen on it, instead of points.

I’d buy the cards if they came out here in the States. I’d even buy some Zelda games with them.
I think they should get rid of the point system and allow you to pay in exact amounts. I put $20 in my eShop account, but after I bought 3 games I was left with $1.57. Games aren’t even allowed to be sold for less than $1.99, so what am I supposed to do with my left-over money? It’s just going to sit there, taunting me, until I give in and spend more money; then I’ll still be left over with a weird amount afterwards.
I’m pretty sure that’s the whole business aspect of it. It sucks, but it works for Ninty.
