Japanese magazine Shounen Jump has provided gamers with some additional details about the recently revealed Dragon Quest X.
Apparently the game will be referred to as Dragon Quest Online rather than Dragon Quest X. The game also features six races: Ogre, Elf, Dwarf, Pukuripo, Wedi and human. Players are tasked with solving a mystery involving the human world. The main area is called is called Astoldia, which is split into four continents: Ogleed, Eltona, Dwachakka, Pukuland, and one island chain, Wena Islands. The game is developed by Square Enix and is due out next year for Wii and later for Wii U.
So they are going ahead with the online. Should be interesting to see what happens.
An online RPG for the Wii and Wii U; a system with an atrocious and gratuitously restrictive online capabilities….smart move Square-Enix! The Wii may have the biggest install base but what percentage of those are core gamers (DQ type players)? I’d be willing to bet my life it’s a small percentage in comparison to the core base the Box and PS 3 have. Dumb move by Square-Enix.
if DQ9 proved anything, this will reflect it.
WiiU has greatly improved online.
we dont know that yet, what we do know is that the wii’s online capabilities are horrible
The Wii’s online isn’t horrible, it isn’t great but it’s not horrible. Horrible would be the PS2’s or GameCube’s online, the Wii is far better than those two systems. Not to mention we DO know that the Wii-U has greatly improved online, 3rd party developers have said that and I think I can trust what they’re saying, regarding to systems.
yea, with how great Xenoblade is selling in Europe, only grandparents and 5 year olds must have wii….
Saw this!
