Nintendo Wii: The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword Is Easier Than The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time

The Official Nintendo Magazine has revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is easier to play through than the highly regarded Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Whilst you may think the combat would be tougher due to the precise nature of Wii Motion Plus, Steve Hogarty from the publication says that you’ll soon learn exactly how to find enemies weak spots and destroy them in no time.

                    1. Jaded (Heath Miller IV)

Yeah. I feel sorry for the “poor kid” who is recieving all this attention and loving it…

    1. Ah ha. You’re the leader of the R. Healy IX fanclub, aren’t you?

What the f**k does being first prove, except you have no life?

      Hmmmm?

  1. I am really excited to play this game, I am playing through Wind Waker for the first time right now, and its incredible, I have heard that this might be as good or better, Twiligth Princess left me feelign a little cheated, actually I havent finished it yet, I got stuck and went back to wind waker, after I found it cheap at a pawn shop

    1. Twilight Princess was HUGE. But this also made it underwhelming to me because it lacked content… Don’t even get me started on the “boss” fights… Hardest one was the Yeti Mansion fight, creepiest too lol. But I think it was after I beat the water temple boss that I decided the bosses in TP were waaayy too easy.

      1. Hopefully they just mean that getting the Wii Motion plus to do what you want it do is easier than playing OoT was with the 64 controller because the wiimote plus is so precise that you cannot fail…?

Hopefully that makes sense lol. At any rate, I sincerely hope this does Not mean the game itself is “easier”. TP was stupid easy. We do not need/want another easy Zelda

  2. If A > B and A converges, then B must converge as well.

Arguably the simplest thing about calculus right there. Just because they tell us SS is easier than OoT, it doesn’t relay the extent to which it’s easier.
    Hopefully only marginally…

    1. oh look someone trying to show off.

and how embarrassing to get such a “simple” thing wrong. The order of growth of A must be greater than the order of growth of B, not the actual values of the functions.

      1. seeing how pointless some of the comment here are i am going to make one too

        1+1 is 11!!

on topic: GOD dammit Nintendo i want a harder Zelda!!! :(:(:(

      1. What im in Florida and i called every gamestop bestbuy and walmart i know and everywhere said they didnt get them today. I AM SOOOO CONFUSED LOL

        1. Ah I didn’t get mine here in Texas either… Though gamestop did send me a text saying that my order will be in tomorrow -.-

  3. At least if it’s harder than Twilight Princess… I hope the bosses don’t take half a heart per hit. Even the final boss in TP took ONLY half a heart. I get unusually upset about this. =P

    1. AGREED. I had to go out of my way to make the game feel challenging, like playing upside down, switching the wiimote to my left hand and stuff. Maybe the TP’s Link was just too damn strong from wrestlings all those goats and gorons lol

  4. No surprises here. Ocarina of Time was tame compared to ALttP, and that’s a process that’s continued since then. To hear that Skyward Sword will be easier than Twilight Princess boggles my mind though. I mean… did ANYONE actually DIE in Twilight Princess?

    1. I died alot in Twilight Princess especially against Ganaondorf. I don’t know you guys saying Zelda is getting is easy isn’t that bad as long as they are fun that;s all that counts not if a game likes to kick your ass.

  5. Not sure if I like this or not. Either way I’m still pumped about this game. Hopefully this just means that there isn’t a Water Temple that takes 8 years to figure out. lol

  6. Why on earth would you post this as its own article? Your last post gave a link to ONM’s article containing this question. That should suffice. You even bothered to explicitly say “do not click this link [if you don’t want to be spoiled].” I skimmed the questions in the linked article to see the nature of the questions – many contained rather large spoilers. This isn’t the most offensive of them all, but it’s still something not everyone would like to know.

  7. … I don’t know what to say here? I mean, honestly, explain easy for me, okay? The battle system was easy, the bosses were easier (In the ability to fight them, not by damage), the puzzles were easy (Just take away the Water Temple) and all of that was in OoT. The only one hard thing for me was getting Epona in the N64 version and getting the Big Goron Sword (Most of the time I went without). So what your saying is… The battle system is easier? The bosses are easier? THe puzzles are easier? I doubt it. Pics or it didn’t happen. (xD) I’ll see it when it happens

    1. Why some people still think Zelda as an RPG? I know RPG is famous but this is not RPG. You don’t directly throw bombs at enemy (Plus direct action a lot more) if this is an RPG. Totally no level at all, no setting comment.
Zelda is an Action Adventure Game. May just contain RPG elements but many games out there also got these type of elements. Make them RPG? NO.

    1. I think for people who haven’t already played the game, which is pretty much all of us who don’t have access to the game shows.

  10. Nintendo… why don´t you go across the street and buy some condoms? I at least wanna have some protection before you F@CK ME! xD

Kidding of course, but still… not really : /
Zelda is easy enough as it is, make it harder if anything!

  11. Its probably easier for him because he is used to the 3D Zeldas (no matter how old he was when he played OoT, tge 3D perspective would have made it seem harder.

  12. Anonymously I say, The only probably I had in Ocarina of Time was the water temple, and it wasn’t really a problem. it just took so long.

  13. I think Nintendo should just finally embrace the idea of DIFFICULTY LEVELS! Wow, what a unique and unheard of concept that is.

Maybe then it will satisfy the veteran players and the newcomers.

  14. “groan” ugh I want a challenge! Twilight princess was by no means hard (didn’t even bother getting most of the heart containers) and this is going to be easier? -_- I was hoping it would be more like Zelda 1 or 2 in terms of difficulty… heck even Majoras mask difficulty would suffice.

well at least I have MH Tri kicking my butt these days… darn +monsters….

  15. What 3D Zelda has been hard? I played through OoT for the first time ever a week ago. I died once to Bongo Bongo and once to Ganon. I think it’s the order you play the games in that determines the difficulty, I played the Zeldas backwards and they got progressively easier.

Combat isn’t complex at all in Zelda, but with the addition of puzzle based combat, I can’t imagine SS’s being easier.

Whatever though, the game got a 10 from Edge, one of the harshest review companies, that should say something. This looks to be an amazing game.

  16. If they make it too hard people won’t like it. Look at Zelda II. I like it, but most people don’t because it’s too hard. And it may not even be that Skyward Sword is easier as it is that all of the puzzles that Zelda uses in it’s 3D games have been seen already, while they were new in Ocarina of Time.
