According to Japanese tabloid Spa! a student was previously busted by a teacher for taking some rather opportunistic upskirt photos of Japanese school girls. When the teacher confiscated the student’s Nintendo DSi he was apparently shocked to see how many female students he had snapped, and was even more shocked to see the student’s penis.
“I discovered a young man using the DS camera to peep on girls at school,” said a 43-year-old male teacher. The teacher apparently confiscated the male student’s DS (the original quote said “DS” and not “DSi”). “Saved on the DS, there were upskirt photos as well as photos of the student’s own penis. The entire staff was sickened by what we found.”

The 3DS does it as well, I HATE IT. I can’t take a 3D photo of my dog beacuse the sound scares him and gets the hell out of there (yeah, he’s very shy). I can’t take photos of my friends when they don’t expect it because the sound gives me away and they end up deleting the most funny photos. Why Nintendo, why?!

And oddly enough we just talked about a situation similar to this in my English class a few months ago. We had to analyze if the teachers were invading the student’s privacy by sharing the info with other staff members.

For a second I was considering moving to where you live, until I realized that you probably meant “they wear pants instead”.
Go to a private school (if you’re in the U.S.). All private schools have skirts (for the ladies exclusively, not the general student) I had to endure private school through my middle-school years and I may or may not have seen upskirts. ;)
Never took a photo though because 1) would have been confiscated, 2) who brings out their DSi in class, 3) they (the teachers would have seen the photo therefore they would have found the purpose of taking out the DSi, 4) would’ve easily been expelled, and 5) IT’S WAY TO FUCKING OBVIOUS WITH THE FUCKING CLICK/SHUTTER SOUND (that’s why I never took more than 10 pictures with that damn DSi)!
In my school they banned anything thats electronic like MP3’s, Phones, gameconsoles. EVERYTHING THATS ELECTRONIC!!!!

I REALLY wish Nintendo would let you turn the shutter sound down or off. i would use my camera so much more if it didn’t annoy everyone and let everyone else around me know whenever I take a picture. Or if it’s late and I’m not supposed to be up, and I don’t want to be noisy.
Not to mention that the stop-motion feature on the 3DS annoys the crap out of me and especially anyone else around me with its continuous, timed clicking.

The funny part is that this is EXACTLY why Nintendo added the shutter. I heard there’s this law in Japan that everything that can take photos must have an audible shutter sound to prevent this kinda stuff.
