Assassins Creed 3 creative director Alex Hutchinson has told the Official PlayStation Magazine that the combat system in Assassins Creed 3 has been completely redone, and that the main protagonist Connor will be able to wield 2 weapons at once to dish out maximum damage to his adversaries. Assassins Creed 3 will be heading to the Wii U sometime later this year.
“The combat system in Assassin’s Creed III has been completely redone. We burned it to the ground and we’re building it back up”.
“At its base it’s a two-handed combat system, so all of the weapons are two-handed. Some of the cool new combinations include a tomahawk and knife. Connor also has a bow.”
“At first our research said basically that bows had been replaced by guns, but what we found was that a lot of the different tribes were still using them to hunt from horseback because the guns were so inaccurate. We thought it was a cool weapon, and still historically accurate”.

I am not first!
Yes you are :D
you’re first!!!!!!

WTF?
xbox has always been gay and still is, im all nintendo my nig but uh nintendo and sony pwn microsoft in tne game industry.
I’m still not going to get the game…but neat, and i believe you could Dual Wield some weapons in Zelda long ago…Double Clawshot anyone? :p
You didn’t exactly use both of them at once, one just acted as a hook for you to hold on.
We’ll see what the next Zelda brings. I always hope Megaton Hammer returns.
hmm dual wield bow and clawshot, grab an enemy then shoot him with the bow…nice
Wow u should read the article and not just post first
The title was enough, it explained it all ;)
BURN!
This game is likely the be the first Assassin’s Creed game I play when it’s out on Wii U, as knowing the last few console releases (not just from the Big N) the launch line ups have been a little lacklustre, and AC3 might be a launch or close to.
People forget the value of a good launch title. Hello? Super Mario Bros, Wii Sports – Those games sold their respective consoles!
Double hidden blades = dual wield weapons.
Rangr
With this game:
Ranger: “I’ll dual wield MY DUAL WIELD!”
Lol this. You’ve been able to dual wield since AC2 XD
I’m really happy they are rebuilding the combat system even though it was honestly nothing wrong with the old one it was just getting old.
AC is trash.
I always find that there is something romantic about war time in the revolutionary war/civil war era.
This will be a great new feature. I can’t wait to check this out and the season changing mechanic and not to mention the multiplayer on this game. ACIII looks to be the best one yet.

I like the idea of dual weilding, always a better choice imo.
Leave luck to heaven.
Duel-wielding forever!
