New English Hyrule Historia Details Emerge

Rich from IGN has uncovered some new details about the English version of the forthcoming Hyrule Historia. Dark Horse Comics – the publisher – were approached by Nintendo to undertake this enormous task and have spent several years talking about collaborating on projects. The English version of Hyrule Historia is physically bigger than its Japanese counterpart. It will include all content in English, even small notes, and will be released in North America, UK, Australia and some additional parts of Europe.

    1. Oh god, the timeline xD there was an article in Official Nintendo Magazine about 3 drastic things to do for Zelda. One was merging the timelines, or having them like a go through time and see the effects of say Wind Waker timeline and back to the Ocarina timeline.
Other was the future Zelda idea, which id still love to see.
And last was the Zelda as villian, which would be insane. It never states that Zelda would always be a good character. But id like it if she was the antagonist, then lost her powers half way through, because of Vaati or someone and reluctantly joined you, that would make for some pretty funny dialouge situations xD

        1. I can just imagine her shouting at Link and giving him the stare, while Link pulls funny facial expression. Would be just a good character development as well, seeing an evil character turn good

      1. Regarding the futuristic Zelda with Zelda herself potentially as the villain, are you sure you didn’t read that in the comments (or forum posts) rather than the article? I ask because I remember submitting that idea to several ‘what do you think Nintendo should do with Zelda?’ articles a while back.

        1. Maybe it was a group total of the things people said, i cant remember, i just know it was an article about 3 things that would be interesting to see in Zelda

    2. Actually, I was pleased by the fact they went with a triple because I was actually doing the same thing. Who knew they’d do that, too? :P

My problem is the justification for it. One path has him being sealed as Ganondorf in the Twilight Realm (A: Child Line), and the second has him being sealed as Ganon in the Sacred Realm (B: Adult Line). There’s no need for a “succeed or fail” scenario, because those define the time paths on their own. At least in my headcanon (which I’ll try not to go too much into), the future is still able to occur in light of past events that could potentially cancel it out since the Sacred Realm can be used as a doorway to other lines, the only instance of which occurred in OoT. The third line, the Flood Line, is a deliberate alternate line that can work with either line A or B and is determined by whether or not a Link shows up at the time of Link To the Past, Twilight Princess or Four Swords Adventures (which forms a B2 line since Ganon is sealed in a sword rather than killed).
