New Nintendo Land Information

Not only is the latest issue of Game Informer full of information regarding New Super Mario Bros U but it also has quite a bit of exciting information related to Nintendo Land. We heard yesterday that the game will feature a Metroid themed attraction titled Metroid Blast which is a horde themed mode which sees you go through waves of enemies as a group. Here’s a few other details published by the publication:

  • Ride a small train to and from attractions
  • Spend coins in the hub that you’ve earned by playing attractions
  • Winning pachinko games populates the park with Nintendo memorabilia
  • This includes Miis in Zelda costumes
  • Metroid Blast has everyone dress up in Samus’ armor
  • One player flies Samus’ ship using the GamePad and screen
  • 4 Wii MotionPlus players (plus Nunchuk) try to shoot down the ship
  • No radar available
  • Includes a lava-filled Norfair map
  • This map features a mechanical Kraid that players can grapple up
  • Metroid Blaster requires Wii MotionPlus

  1. Hmmm. I thought Nintendo Land looked pretty crappy at first, but the more I hear about it, the more interested I get. Might check it out come release. Still sorta hope it comes bundled with the console though.

    1. “No matter how cool it is, it’s still gonna be a failure”

LOLno. If that’s the case, Mario Party and WarioWare are failures.

    2. It wont be a failure, casuals will be all over it, especially seeing as it’ll probably be one of the games demoing in stores, but even gamers like myself are interested in it. I probably wont get it unless its bundled, or part of a store bundle, but it certainly looks fun.

      1. i played the game and it is fun especially when you play with other people. its like a party game kind of like what wii sports was like but much better. dont knock it till you try it its worth getting

        1. I’ll be getting it if theres a bundle offer at one of my local stores, it looks incredibly fun, but unless it has online, i wpuld purposely buy it on its own.

  2. So im guessing the Mii’s are more customisable for the WiiU?

Which is cool, looks like im gona need a couple more motion+ controllers xD

    1. one would presume nintendo would be absolutly insane to leave any kind of multiplayer in this. i mean in a dream world you would be able to walk around your friends theme park and chat to them.

nintendo have probably left this feature out for some strange reason.

miiverse is completely funtctional with this game though.

      1. Yeah.

Despite the fact that you can’t run two fucking tablets at the same time, not to mention, how the Wii Remote can make an ACTUAL gameplay difference.

        1. If they’re set re-using wiimotes (so far as to actually requiring them), i’d rather they brought the fucking things up to date and provided one with the system.

        1. If it has online, id buy it as a stand alone copy, not the first game id buy, but id still buy it, otherwise, it would have to be officially bundled, or part of a stores bundle

  3. It just keeps getting better and better. I hope you can still have an enjoyable experience if you are playing alone. I’m mostly a single player kind of guy. Leave luck to heaven.

  4. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. It doesn’t matter if you feel that this only a collection of mini-games, or a full game expirience. All that matters is that you have fun playing it. That’s what gaming has always been about since the beginning and too many people forget that.

Could the mechanical Kraid be pointing towards Kraid in the next Metroid, who knows.
