Hideki Kamiya from Platinum Games has expressed his interest in working on the Star Fox franchise. Kamiya was answering Platinum Games fans questions on Twitter when he revealed that Star Fox is the Nintendo series he would like to work on the most.

Agreed on Minish Cap. I always catagorise Zelda into 2 ways, the overtop “2D” Zelda, and the full 3D Zelda, starting with OoT, and my favourite 2D is Minish Cap. Link to the Past is awesome, but Minish Cap just felt refined to me, and the NCP and story felt more direct, and was more creative with the whole Minish and shrinking down idea.

Just because its “exclusive” doesn’t mean they are all of the sudden a first-party studio. It just means either they chose that route or Nintendo is publishing (or paid for exclusivity). The second being the case for Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101.

If Retro arent making it, i say go for it. Platinum and Kamiya are renowned for fast paced, balls to the walls action, they’re perfect for a series like this, and if they employ ground missions in Platinum Games style, it would be legendary.

F-Zero is a great game, but its still just a racer, it doesnt hold as much depth as something like Star Fox or Metroid, or even a new IP, like Raven Blade.

Retro are apparently working on “something fans have wanted for a while”, whih suggest Prime 4, or a new trilogy, because Star Fox has just been thrown around by people, and who people want to make it, and Retro’s name just sort of popped up, i dont think its a scenario where a ton of people have emailed Retro or whatever and said “make Star Fox”.
Other M was no Metroid Prime, but it wasn’t supposed to be. It was a different take on Metroid after Super Metroid. I enjoyed it story-wise, but the gameplay wasn’t as challenging or lonesome as Prime. Retro = great at lonesome Prime-ish Metroid; Platinum = high action / intense Metroid

I love Platinum Games, I have Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Madworld and I love them. They also are the same people who worked on Viewtiful Joe and Okami at Capcom and I think they worked on Devil May Cry, anyway these are all favorites of mine. They have proven they make instant classics. Platinum Games would make a wonderful Starfox and I hope Nintendo publishes Vanquish 2 and Madworld 2 and whatever else they want. Retro is great, but they can not be compared to Rare. Retro has never made any new IP and their commercial success does not compare to Rare. Rare made Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Battletoads, Banjo Kazooie, Conker, Jet Force Gemini, Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong 64, Blast Corps, etc. Retro has a long way to go to prove the level of creativity or prolific commercial success of Rare. And if Rare stayed with Nintendo, Timespliters would be Nintendo exclusive and we would have a new one for this generation as well as all Rare’s other IP.
I hope Nintendo let him do it! (if Retro isn’t already) This man is talented, he would make a brilliant game, besides he is fascinated with the series, he would deliver one of the best games of his own.
Nintendo, you just Gotta Make Platinum Games at least a 2nd Party developer, they’ve already given you so many great games AND exclusives. They would be Nintendo’s go-to developer for hardcore action games, I give Platinum Games my OK to make StarFox, Make It Happen! :P
Star Fox adventures had its issues but it was a solid game at the time. I for one would love to see another attempt at that style of game for Star Fox, but have the space battles more intense like Rogue Squadron 2 on the Gamecube.

First time I played Minish Cap was when I got it free in the Ambassador program. It was very enjoyable :)

Just because its “exclusive” doesn’t mean they are all of the sudden a first-party studio. It just means either they chose that route or Nintendo is publishing (or paid for exclusivity). The second being the case for Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101.

If Retro arent making it, i say go for it. Platinum and Kamiya are renowned for fast paced, balls to the walls action, they’re perfect for a series like this, and if they employ ground missions in Platinum Games style, it would be legendary.

F-Zero is a great game, but its still just a racer, it doesnt hold as much depth as something like Star Fox or Metroid, or even a new IP, like Raven Blade.
There is a possibility that the game “everyone wants them to make” is Raven Blade. If it is, I just hope it’s good.
I always thought that was a possiblity. But i just hope it doesnt fall under as a stereotypical RPG, which from the very little info, pucture ect, it does look that way, it needs to really stand out, and seperate itself from the crowd, and show shitty Molyeneux how to REALLY make the best RPG ever
Why don’t Retro work on Star Fox now, Platinum work on Metroid and then they switch later on?

Retro are apparently working on “something fans have wanted for a while”, whih suggest Prime 4, or a new trilogy, because Star Fox has just been thrown around by people, and who people want to make it, and Retro’s name just sort of popped up, i dont think its a scenario where a ton of people have emailed Retro or whatever and said “make Star Fox”.
After Other M I don’t trust Japan with Metroid, especially Sakamoto. Simple as that.
Other M was no Metroid Prime, but it wasn’t supposed to be. It was a different take on Metroid after Super Metroid. I enjoyed it story-wise, but the gameplay wasn’t as challenging or lonesome as Prime. Retro = great at lonesome Prime-ish Metroid; Platinum = high action / intense Metroid
If the next Metroid game is made in Japan Sakamoto will most likely lead it again, which should NOT happen until he realizes his mistakes from Other M. I’ll just let this video explain my distaste for the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX4mhp-8sOc
Also, Metroid isn’t meant to be a high action game. It’s main focus is exploration.

Not neccessarily, pretty much the only people who know what Retro are doing are Retro, Reggie, Iwata, Miyamoto and possibly one or two PR guys. Kamiya wouldnt know if Star Fox was being made, he just want to make it.
If I like Bayonetta 2 and The Wonderful 101, but in ways this kind of confirms that Retro is not working on a Starfox game right now. I guess it doesn’t I’m just pretending it does.
Check out a game called Vanquish, and apply in to Star Fox, and they’re pretty much the perfect guys for the job.

YES!!! Nintendo, let Kamiya or Sakurai make Star Fox (of course once he is done with Smash Bros.). Those two developers I trust to make a good game with Nintendo’s IPs. Right now I would prefer Kamiya since Sakurai is way too busy with Smash Bros. so that way Kamiya can instantly get started after he is done with The Wonderful 101.
Let’s hope that Nintendo’s Global President and Shigeru Miyamoto give Platinum Games and Kamiya-san a thumbs up and bow in developing a new StarFox title for the U. Please do… *crosses fingers*

He wouldn’t know even if Nintendo was making a Starfox. For all we know he could be hinting at the fact that he really is working on it, since it seems they’ve made a strong partnership with Nintendo recently.

I love Platinum Games, I have Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Madworld and I love them. They also are the same people who worked on Viewtiful Joe and Okami at Capcom and I think they worked on Devil May Cry, anyway these are all favorites of mine. They have proven they make instant classics. Platinum Games would make a wonderful Starfox and I hope Nintendo publishes Vanquish 2 and Madworld 2 and whatever else they want. Retro is great, but they can not be compared to Rare. Retro has never made any new IP and their commercial success does not compare to Rare. Rare made Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Battletoads, Banjo Kazooie, Conker, Jet Force Gemini, Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong 64, Blast Corps, etc. Retro has a long way to go to prove the level of creativity or prolific commercial success of Rare. And if Rare stayed with Nintendo, Timespliters would be Nintendo exclusive and we would have a new one for this generation as well as all Rare’s other IP.
I hope Nintendo let him do it! (if Retro isn’t already) This man is talented, he would make a brilliant game, besides he is fascinated with the series, he would deliver one of the best games of his own.

Nintendo, you just Gotta Make Platinum Games at least a 2nd Party developer, they’ve already given you so many great games AND exclusives. They would be Nintendo’s go-to developer for hardcore action games, I give Platinum Games my OK to make StarFox, Make It Happen! :P
As long as it doesn’t turn into another Adventure or Assault, I am perfectly fine with this.

Star Fox adventures had its issues but it was a solid game at the time. I for one would love to see another attempt at that style of game for Star Fox, but have the space battles more intense like Rogue Squadron 2 on the Gamecube.
