Zavvi Slashes Wii U Premium Pricing To £225

zavvi_logo_black

Online UK retailer Zavvi has decided to slash the pricing of the 32GB Wii U Premium package with Nintendo Land to £225. The bundle normally retails for £299.99 so this is clearly a good buy for those of you who are thinking about purchasing the Wii U. Zavvi did hold this deal before, but it was via the retailers eBay channel. I would expect other retail outlets to follow suit as they clear excess stock.

Thanks, Jordan

    1. Ohahahahahohohoho! Little more, and the Wii will be offered for free, just to overheads STOCK!
      Taaaaahahaha! That’s a great joke!

        1. I know. Have you noticed that some games look better on the gamepad than others ? I think the Wiiu sends a 720p/1080p image to the gamepad and it just makes up of every pixel on the gamepad.
Because it’s not like When they made Mass effect 3 they rendered the game in 480p just for the gamepad. You hold minus and the HD signal from the tv instantly jumps to the gamepad where it just displays a HD image through the gamepad screen.

Games like Sonic racing with a slightly lower resoloution than say Mass effect or AC3 look noticably blurrier.

    1. Wahahahaha hehehe! Off topic, I find it amusing that the gamepad can view youtube videos in HD but the controller itself isn’t HD!!!! You’re a funny guy!!!

  1. The UK should have fixed prices like US. Everyone is charging over the odds in the UK for the Wiiu. Before you say I’m crazy and being a Nintendo fanboy. Gamestation is selling assassins creed 3 for £54:99 whilst grainger is selling it for £39:99 . Why would Nintendo , the family friendly company allow this ?

Same with the Console prices , people are trying to make too much money off the Wiiu.
    £2:99 is like $400+ FFS….

    1. Well, America’s going to be cheaper anyway, and while that’s annoying then we can’t do anything about it (be thankful you don’t live in Australia), but I think that having competition when it comes to pricing is definitely a good thing.

  2. Wow.

I paid £265 for my premium and thought that was a damn good price. The basic was £225 at the time. Those 2 prices points seemed perfect to me.

This is even better though. A fantastic deal.

Good to see one retailer doing something about the prices they complain about. Nintendo let UK retailers set the price for the system, and they chose to set it too high. Then they complained about the high price that they themselves chose and said they wanted Nintendo to drop the price, but it’s the retailers decision to drop the price. Looks like they’re starting to do it.

    1. They will buy it when Monster Hunter , Bayonetta 2 , Wonderfull 101 , Pikmin 3 , Mario kart , Smas bros , Zelda are all out :)

        1. This has nothing to do with money, idiot. Nintedward was right, more people will start buying Wii U once the really great titles start to roll in. Just because you are poor, doesn’t mean everyone else is as well.

          1. Poor has nothing to do whit being able to afort a cansole you dick head. Adults like me have bills and prioritys but you are still to young to know that but wen you stop living from your parents you will learn.

            1. I have a job and apartment and have not lived with my parents for over 6 years. Nice try at an insult though.

The reason the Wii U isn’t selling well right now is not “people can’t afford one”.

Obviously you work a very low paying job if you cannot afford a Wii U.

              1. Nice try to damage control your comment but people who has resposabilities know no mather how much you love gaming bills come first …. your momis calling she say you have to take the trash out or she will not give you money for a new game.

          2. Why do you call him an idiot? He didn’t insult anyone, he simply said he disagreed. People have priorities to what they can purchase.

  3. Lots of UK stores are cutting prices, I hope this at least makes sales go up.
They also need to market the damn thing, the monster hunter bundle is up for preorder and I’m not seeing it advertised anywhere

  4. Ordered but still haven’t received confirmation. Zavvi are pretty bad at getting back to you – says awaiting dispatch even though it’s next day delivery and ordered 3 days ago. Looks like it’s too good to be true. Oh well – looks like I’ll go pick one up from an actual store instead.

    Anyone tried ordering?

    1. that is the same price on amazon.com $358US (£225) so whats the big deal on that i think retailers are starting to learn people know how much others pay for the same product in other countries. uk retail is dieing for 1 reason over pricing
