This week’s Media Create sales charts are now in from Japan. Tomodachi Collection: New Life has been pushed aside this week for Summon Night 5 for the PlayStation Portable. In total there are seven games for Nintendo platforms in the Japanese top ten. The Nintendo 3DS continues to be the best-selling video game device in Japan, while the Wii U sees sales dip once again. Hopefully Wii U sales momentum will pick up after E3. Here’s the Japanese software and hardware charts.

The PSP sold great in Japan. A ton of people have it. Sold something like 17 million in Japan alone and is still selling (although at a slower rate now). So, yeah, if a game is popular over there, it will still sell quite a bit on the PSP.

It’s fine for now. It hasn’t even been out for a year yet and Nintendo has a lot in store for it.
I’m curious as to why you say that Simply G. I’m a die hard Nintendo fan and I must admit that these lackluster sales are worrying the heck out of me. I believe the only saving grace of Wii U will be is if XboxOne and PS4 are ridiculously expensive. Sure we are getting some killer games later on in the year but it’s really nothing that won’t interest non-Nintendo fans. Wii U needs a killer app, like the next Call of Duty, that everyone will buy a Wii U just to play that game.
I doubt it will sell Wii, DS, or 3DS numbers, but it doesn’t have to in order to be a success.
Nintendo has stuff in store and they’re actually getting more major third party support than they have had in recent years for their home console.
People need to calm down and give it time. The games are coming. I think too many people forget how things usually go during and after a console launch.
Haha yeah true I’ll give you that. I remember how much the 3DS was worrying me around this time after it’s launch and look at it now. I just hope Nintendo as well as third parties will support the Wii U as much as they did with the 3DS.
The poor sales should change by September.
I think (in Japan at least) come Fall, it’ll be a battle between Wii U and PS4, since they never really cared for Microsoft anyway. And with Nintendo likely having the cheaper system with more games/exclusives by the time PS4 launches, it’ll be a win for Nintendo.

they will do much better at the end of the year when the Wii u gets all of its games and ps4 and Xbox one are going through their launch drought, which the Wii u has already been through. Nintendo’s technically a step ahead at this point because they have a head start in sales and their game drought will be over by the time its competitors launch. plus it will probably get a ton more features in summer update and even more sprucing up. this E3 will probably be the start of a new marketing campaign and games galore. I am predicting at least 30 games to be talked about (new announcements and old.) lets wait and see. 19 more days.

As he’s zipping up his pajama pants feels a pinch, “Damn, I got my dick stuck in the zipper again”. He unzips the pajama pants and rezips them (carefully this time). He kisses the picture of mother good night and gets under his cozy covers. Ben Sanders is about to fall asleep, but suddenly hears a scratching on the door. He slowly opens up his eyes to see what it was, “Uhh Hello, is that a ghost?” Ben said in his head. He begins to drift back into sleep. Then he hears the same noise again. This time he gets up to see what it was. To his surprise he sees a head peeping in through his window. “Who’s There?” Ben Sanders said as he walks closer to the mysterious person. The Woman’s black eyes were shining like in the moonlight. The woman slowly approached Ben. He then opened his window really fast and to his surprise, he saw his own Mother standing naked before him.
wow the Wii u still aint doin so hot. but I think japan is waiting for games just like we are. just give it time people. japan loves Nintendo, they just want Nintendo’s games first or cool exclusives before purchasing. Atmosphere is key. Having the best equipment won’t get poeple in off the street. It has to be a clean, quiet place with modern decor. Also, make sure there aren’t computer wires astray all over the place.
Mr RayI’d go with the oringal Nintendo as my fiarovte game system, though the One-on-One, Dr. J vs. Larry Bird’ game for the Atari 7800 is a classic. I got to play a few sports games for the Wii a few weeks ago and they’re a lot of fun as well.
