Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has revealed via Twitter that both console and handheld software sales were the lowest since May 2000. Nintendo of America announced earlier today that the Nintendo 3DS was the best-selling video game platform in North America during May. Sounds as though it was another terrible month for North American video game retailers.

“I can’t/won’t publish any data from the NPD, but found it interesting that software sales for console/handheld were lowest since May 2000”

    • Nah, the PS3/360 will still be supported about 3 more years when the new consoles come out. Plus, after the Xbone disaster, the 360 will be the more popular option for Xbox fans.

  1. Maybe because companies usually choose to sell their games late on in the year as opposed to the middle when they generally don’t sell as well.

  2. I talked to my friends about 3DS and WiiU, they said they didn’t like the 3DS, and they never heard of the WiiU, and yes, they do own a Wii, and DS, maybe old patch is onto something…

  3. No surprise here this Troll doesn’t want to NINTENDO have one moment in the sun. Scumbag just because Xbox didn’t come first he is crying into his spread sheets.

Actually forget the last bit. Him having spreadsheet’s would infer he actually study’s market trends and doesn’t just make it all up.

  4. I never care (or take seriously) what this Pachter guy says. Especially after Miyamoto (or Iwata?) said that what the media says about Nintendo sales etc. is silly. I agree. The media makes a much bigger deal out of things than they really are. And they often exaggerate.

  5. If you think Margaret`s story is terrific,, 3 weeks ago my dads best friend basically recieved a check for $4721 sitting there a seventeen hour week in their apartment and there neighbor’s step-aunt`s neighbour did this for four months and brought in more than $4721 parttime from their mac. use the guide at this site,
