Shadow Of The Eternals Kickstarter Project Relaunching July 25

shadow of the eternals screenDespite its underwhelming performance to fund Shadow of the Eternals – the spiritual successor to the GameCube’s Eternal Darkness – for the Wii U and other platforms through its first Kickstarter campaign, Precursor Games are up and ready to relaunch, and this time they are hoping they can reach their goal. Shadow of the Eternals’ Kickstarter campaign will be relaunching on July 25, and will sport a much bigger effort to focus their title on the community by launching podcasts and competitions.

Precursor Games has had a rough time recently; co-founder Ken McCulloch was recently arrested and charged for the possession of child pornography, Denis Dyack – although not in the same league – bore the brunt of many disgruntled fans, plus falling short of their $1,350,000 goal didn’t give them the best start to crowdfunding. However, this time it’s all changed, as the developers were quick to point out in recent blog updates. Bar from the hype in PR and focus on community, Precursor Games has yet to detail the specifics though.

“We learned a great deal from our first campaign and we have made substantial changes to the structure of the campaign from both community feedback and observation.

“We really want to thank our community and followers for the unwavering support and patience over the past few weeks – it’s been a huge inspiration and motivator for us. Your feedback has been instrumental in many ways throughout the process of creating the new campaign and we can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for you all.” – Precursor Games Team

      1. people are botchy about it because of the stupid dyack shit but who cares, you will give that shitty point and click clay motion game a million but not possibly the best 3rd party game on nintendo in the last 15 years!!!!! stupid fan boys are what is killing nintendo, most of them wont touch any 3rd party game. yeah i can trust him, its not fishy at all its just people want to think that something is up. yeah want support this is about the most fucking support the wii u will get.

        1. yeah i see the grammar is some low life social reject going to correct me because they feel special, well you already are if you think that being a grammar corrector is funny.

          1. Actually now that you mention it, the grammar was almost at the point of making the whole thing unintelligible. When it’s that bad you don’t need to be grammar nazi who “feels special” to correct it. I’d actually appreciate someone cleaning it up so that your point made sense.

            1. im just in a hurry and dont take my time when i wright on here. like i dont want to explain everything about dyack and didnt explain everything all the way.

        2. NO TITS FOR YOU BITCH

I don’t care about your grammar, but it sure does reinforce just how dumb you are, and ignorant. You’re talking as if Nintendo drones are the worst thing that’s happened to earth. Fanboys are everywhere. Every company has fanboys. Go make comments on N4G about Sony fanboys, stop being such a fucking asshole yourself.

Nintendo fans (not fucking fanboys) DO support any content that the Wii U gets as long as it’s good. Fact.

And another fact for you is; this game wouldn’t help the Wii U in any way. Eternal Darkness sold badly, even though it was a good game. Not a lot of people know about it, and it sure as hell ain’t getting any exposure. The fact that this game isn’t coming to the Wii U (at least yet) isn’t, in any way, affected by Nintendo fanboys.

And it’s ironic how you offend people with such words like “low life”, “social reject” and “fat nerd”, which you probably are yourself anyways. Don’t show just how insecure you are.

And also, arguing and fighting with me over the internet over gaming companies probably won’t get you anywhere, either.

          1. sony fanboys are the worst, the fan boys on here though is why i say these things. also this game will help wii u, its another great game that wii u could have making the system less shit, every good game helps, more with nintendo too.

            1. NO TITS FOR YOU BITCH

I guess this does make me respect you a bit more, as you did point out that it’s only this website that angers you. I do still disagree with you, however, that this game will help. Like I said, this game will not ever get a lot of exposure. Sure, it will be a good addition to the library of games coming for gamers on the internet to check out, but other than that, not many will know about it. The more games the merrier, though.

And ignore the comment at the bottom, I said that whilst not realizing that you actually weren’t biased against the Nintendo fanbase.

              1. yeah why do you think im on a nintendo website in the first place, hahahhahaha. i hate any fan boys, but i hate on nintendo ones more because i go to nintendo websites 95% of the time. everybody knows that the sony fan boys are the worst, it doesnt matter where you go, their all so bad.

          2. Don’t care if it helps the WiiU. I just want to play it. Eternal Darkness was one of the most significant games of my teen years and it’s a travesty that it hasn’t already had sequels.

That’s true, this game does look like a very fun game. Too bad the director is accused of so many things including stealing money and kiddie pornography. Jeez.

I hope that at some point, this game does gain a release on the system, I will be glad to buy it. Especially if a retail copy comes out, I love discs.

    1. We need more kickstarter projects like these. They’re our best bet to escape the tedious crap the mainstream games industry is constantly shoving down our throats. These kinds of developers know what to change in a franchise and what not to change and aren’t dictated by the marketing department.

Does anyone remember that kickstarter Starfox game from a few years back? Would’ve been spectacular.

  1. I’ve opened a new Kickstarter. If I get 500$ I’ll give a shit. If I get $700, I’ll even throw in a compliment.

          1. Well perhaps then he could express why this is no big deal, why it’s not worth getting excited about. “I don’t care” is hardly worth saying. Certainly wasn’t worth reading.

            1. exactly this is like sony fans not caring about fatal frame???? why are people so stupid on nintendo!!!!! its also why no 3rd party sells because unless its mario and zelda they dont care!!!!

              1. NO TITS FOR YOU BITCH

LMAO. You’ve just stated that Nintendo fans don’t buy third party games, and they only buy Zelda and Mario games. That is the worst shit I’ve ever read. Did you know that the Wii had heaps of third party game sales? Where the fuck did this mindset come from that Nintendo fans don’t buy third party games? A good third party game = sales. You, again, are discriminating against a fanbase. Gamers are some of the dumbest people out there, there might be some dumb Nintendo fans you see, but there are also heaps of dumb Sony and Microsoft fans. Don’t state it as if Nintendo has the dumber fanbase. It’s just not true.

                1. NO TITS FOR YOU BITCH

Ignore this comment. The comment up the top, I will respond to. This comment line is closed. Too bad I can’t delete my comment, too.

  2. They still aren’t going to reach their goal if it’s freakin 1.3 million dollars (dr. evil hand). I suppose community activities will help it, but it won’t materialize that kind of money. I would so fund this if I didn’t think I’d be throwing my money away.

    1. I agree. I don’t see this ever reaching its goal, which is sad. I do want to play this game. I think they should just finish chapter one, release it, and use the money to release the next chapter. Using the money they obtain in the end, they can finally fund a collection of the chapters and release a GOTY edition or something similar to what Telltale games did with the Walking Dead. I don’t see Precursor doing this, however. It’s a shame, because I thought when this game was announced that Precursor could potentially become the next big developer in the gaming business.

      1. you dont GET anything if its a FAILED attempt.
you only pledge money with kickstarter, if goals are not met, kickstarter folds and all pledges wiped.
        did you LEARN something?

  3. I feel like this game is just asking to fail. Who wants to support the game when money laundering scandals and kiddie porn bootleggers were the ones making the game in the first place. 💋

  4. I never support kickstarter projects because it never has been my responsibility to fund game projects. I support them by buyin them when they are finished and if its worth the money. In nutshell im consumer and not publisher\funder whatever……

  5. Now that’s some bad luck.

To be honest, the game doesn’t appeal to me as much as Eternal Darkness did.

  6. I can go ahead and say that this title isn’t happening. Not to mention all the business behind the scenes just seems a little to shady and I don’t trust Dyack any further than I can throw him.
