Pikmin 3 supports a number of control methods. When the Wii U game is released, you’ll be able to control its three captains using a Wii U GamePad, Wii U Pro Controller, Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk, or even a regular Wii Remote and Nunchuk. If you have both a Wii Remote and Wii Remote Plus, play with the latter, as that controller will provide you with a better experience. Pikmin 3 launches in Europe on July 26 and North America on August 4th.

Thank God! I thought I would have to go out and spend the extra money to buy a wii remote plus in order to play with the wii remote controls. good thing I don’t have to now :)
Sorry but this was confirmed atleast 2 years ago…
2 years ago it was a Wii title
It was originally made as a Wii game but as of 2010 or something it was “converted” into the Wii U and if my memory serves me right, they already mentioned this at around that point…
As if you would though
Of course yes: this game was developed for the original Wii.
so many controller options, it boggles my mind…..
Indeed, I will start with the Gamepad though to get the most challenge from it since I’m already used to the Wiimotes…
Gamepad first, then the remote plus!
I am planning to do the same.
Can’t wait for 8-4-13 so I can download it, get 599 points for the $5 code and buy something else.Win-Win.
This shit has been confirmed ages ago, stop old news!!
Why does almighty troll and PSDrone Ness so fluently keep up with the Nintendo news? Might it be true that you actually are a false figure, and you’re not such a drone?
No seriously, why the fuck are you keeping up with the news so fluently?
Dang Europe, getting it before us. :(
But I’m really looking forward to this game! It looks great!
if only every other wiiu game was this diverse in controller usage.
dont aim -point-interact with a second analog stick STOPPED DOING THAT 8 YEARS AGO
AND LOL @ ANYONE STILL DOING IT (COUGH EVERY FPS PLAYER ON PS AND XBOX CONSOLES CASUAL SCUM)
WII REMOTE WITH PLUS ADDED IS THE PERFECT FPS-RTS TOOL AND GAMEPADS TOUCH SCREEN COMPLIMENTS IT LIKE ICE CREAM TO A CHOC CAKE
ONLY FACT NOT OPINION WIIU IS NEXT GEN
DONI HAVE TO GO TO WEB SITES ANDVTYPE FACT WATER IS WET OR FACT THE SUN IS HOT AND SENDS NATURAL LIGHT TO THE EARTH BIG FAT NO
SO WHY DO SONY AND MS FANS NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT NEXT-GEN MEANS
NO IM SERIOUS HERE THERE DELOUDED MORONS
PIKMIN 3 CONTROLS -INTERFACE PROVES THIS FACT
Why does this have to be a comment? I mean, if deluded drones and dumb-asses have to not realize this, and you know it’s true, why do you have to make a “big” comment that addresses to them as a general group and NOT to someone directly?
And yeah, I always found the Wii remote to be the funnest way to play an FPS title. And I do agree that playing with the Gamepad and Wiimote in an RTS game will probably be the best way to play such titles right after the PC. And any RTS that comes to the system (which I’m sure there will be, after Pikmin 3), would have to have a slick design appealing to the player.
I think everyone who disagree that the Wii U is next gen either have some brain problems, or they are just trolling. However I can not see how Pikmin’s control interface would prove that. It’s the “wave” the console is released in that defines its generation.
mouse pointer combined with wii motion plus and a tactical touch screen seconery screen
check
wiiu is NEXT GEN ——-DUALSHOCK ISNT
I like how many controller options they are delivering in some of their games.
I dont know if I will use motion+ or not :/ The normal Wiimote fits perfectly in my hand, but with the adapter it becomes slightly uncomfortable for me…
It’s coming *shaking & shiver* I need it…
It’s too bad the Wii didn’t start out with the Wii Plus from the beginning. I can tell a big difference in Wii Plus games like Wii Sports Resort or Red Steel 2 and if it was like that from the beginning, people would have been more interested in the Wii and the Star War Light Saber Duels game would have been awesome. There wasn’t really that many Wii Plus games that took advantage of the sharper controls.
