Shantae – Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console Trailer

Developer WayForward Technologies has released a trailer for Shantae, which you can watch above. Shantae was originally released for the Game Boy Color in 2002. The game’s main star is a Guardian Genie named Shantae, who is blessed with a magical ponytail, which she can use to whip monsters or break objects. Shantae is also a belly dancer and when she moves her hips, she can transform into many animals, such as a monkey and elephant, to help here solve puzzles and reach hard-to-get-to places. The game is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console this Thursday, July 18th.

  1. To be honest, I still don’t get the big deal about this game.
What’s so special about it that this blog has to post every single information concerning it?

      1. *GBC. It was one of the last gameboy color games, it actually came out when the gameboy Advance had just come out, that is why it never sold well, and got popular.

    1. I’m with you on this one, twice, if not three or even four times a week, this blog posts articles about this game. It’s not the next GTA title, or Half Life 3 or anything, but you’d think it’s s important. Thorough investigative journalism though.

    2. And for a secondary opinion, it’s a niche game that’s prone to being latched onto and praised into the sky by the few and the proud, thus making fans’ voices the only ones prevalent and finding a neutral party in the matter is damn near impossible. So what I’m saying is, don’t take their word for it.

Guess I’ll find out for myself.
