Japanese gaming bible Famitsu has published this week’s review scores. Among the many reviews on offer is Sonic Lost World for the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U. The publication’s four reviewers gave the Nintendo 3DS version 8/9/8/9 and the Wii U version 9/9/9/9. So if you’re wondering which version you should spend your hard earned money on, it appears as if the Wii U version is the one to go for at the moment.

MISLEADING HEADLINE. The score is average to low
In what universe are four 9’s out of 10’s average to low. Besides, out of all the games reviewed, SLW Wii U scored the highest.
9/10 is average to low? Highest scores of all the games reviewed. Maybe you should go back to playing all your unique FPS and get off the interwebz.

Famitsu doesn’t say anything. They have been a joke for a few years now. One of their reviews of KH:BBS was (and I shit you not) this:
“I love that all of the characters have different styles and commands. When I use them they are different. The boss battles were so great”
Most people don’t even read these. They see scores and go “Great” but God Firbid IGN ever comes out with a 3 sentence-review, you guys would TEAR THEM APART.
Seriously, they gave the JoJo game (which is terrible, look up any decent video) a full 40/40. Stop using them as a reliable source.

Glad the 3DS version’s getting good scores. My lack of a Wii U means I’ll have to “settle” for the portable version for the time being.
Spend it on WiiU version and buy a 300$ console next to it, so you can play your sonic :P
I like their way of reviewing games. It makes it less biased.
Wii U is awesome and LW for Wii U seems to be the definitive version but from what I’m seeing/hearing they’re really trying to make the 3DS version as good as possible so don’t feel like you’re getting a gimped port or anything, I think it’ll still be awesome even if the Wii U version will look and play better.

I will obviously get the big screen, 60fps, proper console version than the welfare version from the 3DS with its pixelated screen and its 30fps.

Maybe, install-base differences aside, the fact that it’s for 3DS might actually take potential Wii U buyers away from it… XD. That’s the kind of business choice that can really suck. I’m getting the Wii U version though, it’s the definitive experience and I’m convincing everyone I can to go the same way.
