Some people are very new to gaming if all they think that “pre-order” numbers are a sign that a console is going to sell.
Its only dominating because Dumbtendo refuses to put their free online to AAA tittles. Thats Wii U’s biggest advantage. But too stupid to realize that if NSMBU had online, it would have sold more consoles.
They’re prob. not adding it BC not enough buyers are supporting their system, they’re too cheap, or they honestly don’t think it necessary. Maybe I’m wrong, but I doubt adding online to NSMBU would drastically up console sales.
Not that I’m against the idea, Nintendo are still lagging behind in that department, but I think the bigger problem’s lack of more compelling 1st party games & exclusives. I’m pretty sure that would get more PPL to pick up a Wii U instead of a Wii.
Myb. then they’d get more 3rd party support on their side willing to work with that gimmicky gamepad of theirs. Mario Galaxy’s 1 example of a somewhat compelling game that sold well & didn’t need online. Online works best with multiplayer.
And even that doesn’t guarantee it to be a system seller. CoD BLOPS2 & Sonic All Stars Racing did a lousy job of selling Wii Us.
Both of those games went to about every platform available.
Online for Nintendo tittles would be nice and might sell to some degree, but they would wear out really fast.
They need to come up with new ways to play, so that they can take advantage of online multiplayer.
It’s not online, it’s the disaster of a launch, zero brand awareness, trusting 3rd parties to deliver quality games and minimum 1st party titles.
Compare the Gamecube’s 1st party line up in it’s first year compared to the Wii U, it’s a bit of an eye opener..

I heard NSMBU was a very good game, best in the series(topping even NSMB1), and Luigi U still seems good, even without Mario.
I never expect anything new out of the story, but technicly Peach doesn’t get kidnapped since Bowser never takes her out of the castle.
Luigi U’s at least better than Mario U & that’s only because it’s more complete. I don’t really care who I play as so long as I’m enjoying what I’m playing. Ever since Wii, all Mario games have felt the same for me, whether in 3D or 2D format.

When Toyota build the new Carol LA, they focused on the 2014/15 C segment Civic, Mazda 3/ Focus and Elantra not those cars 5 years ago. That’s why PS4 is highly praised.
Dumbtendo focused on PS3 as if they weren’t going to make a PS4.
And they couldn’t even get that part right. Look how long it’s taking them to make major 1st party titles, and even then they don’t render full 1080p, but more around 720p.
Dumbtendo didn’t even try to estimate that Xbone and PS4 would have shit loads of Ram. Yet gave the Wii U 32gig. That was stupid. Just focused on over coming the PS3. Yeah Dumbtendo made sure they has PS3 beat.
And wasn’t people complaint NSMBW for lacking online and then dumbtendo still didn’t listen when NSMBU and 3D World were in development. And why did t dumbtendo practice HD back in 08′ but waited at the last minute.
IHDK, All I can say is it’s not the first time they ignore fans’ request or don’t fully keep promises. Online has never really been a main priority for them. They’re too traditionalist. Miyamoto’s one who’s especially picky when it comes to online.
If it doesn’t play a certain way or he feels the game doesn’t need it, then he rules it out. And sometimes certain games really don’t require online & it ends up being a waste of money & time consumption adding it only so it ends up selling poorly.
