Nintendo America Is Sorry For eShop Downtime

Nintendo of America has told fans on Twitter that it’s sorry for the inconvenience caused over the Christmas period when the Nintendo eShop was inaccessible. This caused added frustration for many as they were unable to claim their download codes that came pre-bundled with hardware. Here’s what they had to say.

“We sincerely apologize for this week’s inconsistencies and thank you again for your patience and support”

“We will share more information about the launch of Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter as soon as possible.”

  1. We got more Nintendolings ready to battle so it’s understandable that the process of handling all of them would be overwhelming…

  2. Im sure they will announce the release date on this month’s direct. And I am looking forward to transfering over some 6IV dittos.

  3. Nintendo, typically when your service goes down or doesn’t work as advertised is customary to give out a game or some kind of software for like what Sony did when PSN got hacked and brought down for a month.
Granted it is only 2 days appose to a moth but those 2 days were at Christmas time and I bet there was a lot of upset/disappointed people after opening their presents to find they can’t do anything with their brand new 3DS or Wii U.

    1. Neither of the devices weren’t completely useless without Internet connection.
And getting hacked, is way worse, than having connection issues or server downtime, they actually compromised credit card and personal informations at Sony..
99% of companies do not give anything for server downtimes, unless its a paid service, then they might give subscription days equal to downtime.

        1. No they where not. Nintendo can be always be responsible for people stupidity. They should have done like I did download everything and then put it back in the box it would have also been nice than Wynn the small ones asked who did it you said it was Santa.

          1. Just because you’ve learned not to trust Nintendo, doesn’t mean the masses new to Nintendo have.

but yes, I’m sure Nintendo has taught them a valuable lesson that trusting them is, as you said, “stupid.”. Well count me among them. I was certain the eShop would be open on 1.) Christmas Eve? 2.) Christmas day? 3.) the fucking day after?

            Nope. None of the above.

            1. Yes cuz you lost so much not being able to buy a game on Christmas. You being new to how the internet works dosnt mean you have the right to be treated special when something bad happens. If you are so angry at Nintendo for this then go use other services and come back and tell me what is different.

    2. No is not you idiot. Tue free games where not given because you could not play online they where given cuz the people accounts where at risk and I mean bank accounts.

  4. At least the 3ds and wii u are not leaking liquids… ow, wait, silly me, that just wouldn’t be normal and wouldn’t happen with any gaming conso… silly me… :P

      1. weird, the 3DS is on a 2 yar HUMOGOUS sale peak, and yet you say it is pissing in fear?
        you surely talk without knowing

        1. The pile of 3DS games WAS ENORMOUS! if you buy them all you better fortify the foundations of your house to support them all!!

(sorry for this man, i <3 3DS, but I thought up this joke and just had to make it :P)

      2. one water-cooler, one tv remote, one nasty splash of cum… and maybe one game. xbox one. it’s all in kinect 2! Play it- … … I mean, use it now!

  5. As a business with responsibilities to fulfill, this is a shitty ass apology. Give the people who trusted in Nintendo something to recompense. Even a free, shitty VC game would be a positive gesture.

“I’m sorry” will not win back the consumer’s trust.

    1. you agreed upon the fact that they don’t have to do that:

      1. Ohhh, well then. That makes it all better. Why even bother apologizing then? I totally forgot we signed up to be fucked over and over by Nintendo!

As soon as I find an empty bottle, You’re going in and not being let out until you have something useful to say, Navi. ;)

        1. You have signed to be fucked by everyone on the internet so stop whining. This is not Nintendo only. You are lucky they even apologize for something that has always happened since the code Morse (original email)was invented.

  6. whenever Nintendo screws up, this is all we ever get.

“We sincerely apologize for [“insert screw-up here”] and thank you again for your patience and support”

      1. Yep. That was cool. Guess they can’t afford to do it everytime they screw the consumer. They’d go bankrupt.

      2. I am a 3DS ambassador, didn’t make-up a thing, drop the price by £100 gives some decades old games as compensation.

  7. I recently started playing Kid Icarus online. I learned how to play quickly =) Just hoping the online for this game isn’t affected right now. Hugs.

  8. I can’t remember who it was, but I wrote a comment last week on the Pokebank delay article saying that they were holding it to fix the Hackmon. They argued that it wasn’t the case and it would be out soon when the online came back up. Well congrats to you because it’s still not out despite Nintendo saying it would be once the server issues were fixed. The only reasonable explaination is they are holding it to fix something.
