In an attempt to drum up sales Nintendo is releasing a new Wii U bundle in Japan that comes with Wii Sports Club. The price for the new package is 30,000 Yen and is due for release on March 27th. The news was announced in the latest Japanese Direct, but went overlooked. Here’s what Japanese gamers will get.
- White Premium Wii U
- 1 Wiimote Plus
- 1 Sensor Bar (not included in the standard Premium Pack)
- Wii Sports Club (Golf, Tennis, Bowling) pre-installed (no idea if they give you full passes for those)
Thanks, Jay

Was expecting Donkey Kong
“Meh”
It’s like they want it to keep getting confused with the original Wii.
The name was a mistake, and now they’re bundling it with with an enhanced version of a Wii game.
For fuck sake Nintendo. I love you, but stop making stupid decisions.
Exactly. Wii was “the white game machine with the sports game”. For all intents and purposes, this Wii U would look identical unless a store associate explained it was “new”.
The Wii was discontinued in Japan dumbass
All the more reason it will add to consumer confusion, stupid.
‘Look, honey. Theyre selling that thing we quit playing years ago again and now the remote has a tv in it…how do they expect you to swing that?’
Japan is not stuck on stupid.
Ummm.. no. Japanese people aren’t as stupid as the majority. They actually know the difference between things and don’t need their hand held to the difference. The Wii U is doing ok in Japan. Iwata has said that. So this is both of you making generalizations based on your countrymen and mine, being idiots. =)
I hope this catches on but deep down I know it won’t and even if it does it will only be a fad which isn’t really a success. I love my Wii U and all but I really can’t wait for this generation to be over, it’s kind of painful to observe at times. I really hope Nintendo steps up their game with the next console *fingers crossed*
Ugh! These Wii/U Sports games are HORRIBLE! I never could understand the appeal. I play them for a few minutes and I can’t stand to play anymore.
Hey all you morons thinking that this will confuse people even more, get your heads out of your arses and realize THE WII WAS DISCOUNTUED IN JAPAN, IF YOU CAN EVEN FIND ONE THAT WILL BE A MIRACLE SO SHUT THE HELL UP
Sounds like things would be even MORE confusing. If the Wii was still available, people could see there were two different machines.
You’re not thinking this through very well, are you?
Not every consumer knows that or worse, like Ham said, more confusion.
Yeah, youre still stupid. General consumers dont really keep up with that sort of thing.
Guys I have great news… Thief got a mediocre 6.8/10 on IGN! Here’s hoping people will come to their senses and stop buying gimped PCs with mediocre titles! http://ign.com/articles/2014/02/24/thief-review

Wouldnt japan know what a wii u is? I can see it being a problem with the name everywhere else but thats the homeland for nintendo.

What is taking so long for all the Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort to get this treatment to HD Wiimote plus control and online multiplayer? Where is online baseball with Wii motion plus control? Where is online boxing with Wii motion plus control? Where is online fencing and online basketball, online competitive table tennis from Wii Sports Resort?
