Microsoft Studios executive Phil Spencer has revealed on Twitter that he loves the Super Smash Bros franchise, but says not to expect a similar game on Xbox One with Microsoft and Rare IP’s. Spencer then went onto praise Nintendo’s beloved franchises and says that’s one of the many reasons that Super Smash Bros is as renowned as it is.

The correct way to play is free for all, with all items on and on any stage. After all, Smash does add four players, who can go after anyone and not just one at a time for a team of two taking turns, items add all kinds of chaotic mischief and though it may be cheap with some. It’s Smash Bros! All those makes it what it is and doesn’t make it like Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur and every other fighting game out there. The saddest thing is that Sony stole the idea that Nintendo didn’t even realize happened that made Smash so great. All its IP’s in one game. So fuck the game who asked for a Microsoft equivalent. Quit trying to steal stuff from Nintendo with your money, Microsoft and Sony needs to quit making their own versions of Nintendo ideas. It’s as bad as black people trying to make black versions of movies. Like Annie, Oz, Karate Kid. Go make a game about shooting things with Microsoft characters. Or Sony should just stick to Dissidia, since atleast it wasn’t a rip off and collaborated a bunch of Final Fantasy characters from different games.

The movie part was ignorant, irrelevant and unnecessary. Besides, the correct way to play is whichever way is most fun for you. If Sakurai felt one way was wrong he wouldn’t put it in the game (like how he didn’t want a story mode because he thought people uploading it to YouTube was wrong). No matter how many people want something, he makes the game the way he sees fit, so if it’s there, it’s not “wrong”. It may be cheap or easy but not wrong. I play competitively without items sometimes or sometimes all items on a random stage. Sometimes even themed matches using only explosives, etc. Play whichever way is most fun for you and your friends.
How is playing with competitive rules “like a sissy”? Besides, he’s praising smash bros, not bashing it.

It seems that this is not as much about praising Smash Bros as much as it is about preferring it over Playstation All-stars Battle Royale, in order to try to get an edge over their direct competitor (which is Sony, not Nintendo).
People getting a Playstation for All-stars Battle Royale would be worse for Microsoft than people buying a Wii U for Smash Bros, as it is more likely for people to have both an XBone and a Wii U, than to have an XBone and a PS4. Just saying…

This is one of my favorite series of games. But only the 1-player modes. I’m not a fan of multi-player modes in games like this. I only like playing multi-player in games like Mario Party, Mario Golf-sort of games, and once upon a time, WWE games (HATE wrestling now).
In Smash Bros. games, the action is so fast-paced and frantic that I constantly defeat my own self because I keep losing track of where I am on screen and falling down cliffs. And it only takes a few matches before it begins to feel VERY repetitive to me.
Nintendo should make an action RPG super smash bros game that uses toy statutes like Skylanders.
really off topic but can someone tell me why are third party games are starting to become more of a PC thing rather then a console thing. it seems like since the wiiU has been getting a lot of nothing from third party it seems like it wont matter because consoles should rely on good exclusives and I mean games that are made for that particular console wiiU xbone and ps4. after I read about the batman game yesterday I said to myself damn now I have to get it on PC but then realized my PC would probably run the game locked at 1080p 30fps (which by the way I think most games need to run a 30fps cause I noticed 60fps can cause me motion sickness) but anyway. maybe its me but im starting to feel like my consoles wiiu xbox one will only be for exclusives and PC for everything else what about you guys.
