Nintendo Wants You To Share Your Gameplay Data In Yoshi’s New Island

Nintendo is asking Yoshi’s New Island players if they would mind sharing their gameplay data with the company presumably to improve future games. Kotaku says that the first screen you see when you start up Yoshi’s New Island asks you to “Share gameplay data with Nintendo? We will use this info to help develop future games”. Players that agree to share their data will have it uploaded over the internet.

    1. Soon Sony will make a Mario party clone and take over the gaming world once and for all…….

It’ll be called All star Sony Party©……

      1. we all know how sony’s last attempt went ot copy a nintendo game lol all stars battle royal was hands down the worst game i have played in the last 15 years lol

          1. Our Smash Clone may have been inferior but at least our kingdom takes risks with experimentation….

          1. DLC can change the game play, even if just a little bit. The NSLU DLC was great, and I liked most of the game better than NSMBU itself. NSLU changed the physics of jumping and friction, in addition to level design. Tough as level design is 30-40% of a 2D platformer, a DLC with great level design is always welcomed.

But the point of DLC is to add more to the actual game, if the DLC changes the game play too much, it is not the same game.

  1. If anything comes of this I hope it shows Nintendo how easily people blow through the game and realize they need to add some difficulty. Then again I’m only assuming this game is being made with the same mindset of NSMB. Nintendo should take notes from Retro for their next 2D platformer.

    1. Yoshi’s Island games are traditionally fairly difficult, but admittedly just from trailers this looks to be easy. Then again, trailers usually show early levels so why don’t we wait until we play it to judge!

  2. Although im glad a new Yoshi’s island is coming out, I cant help but be a bit disappointed in the art direction. Oh well, its still a day one buy for me.

  3. If anythings comes of this I hope it sshows Nintendo how easily people bslow througsh the game and realizes they need to add ssome difficulty. Then asgain I’m only sassuming this gasme is being made with thse same mindset osf NSMB. Nintendo should take notses from Retrso for their next 2D pslatformer. http://num.to/935057428678

  5. Nothing wrong with this, from my perspective.

It’s not like the 3DS is even capable of recording us via camera as we play nor spy on us when it’s closed up in a clam, lol…

  6. Yoshi will have to fight pro-life protesters who are mad at him for murdering so many of his unborn children in order to murder his enemies.

  7. I dont mind a nsmb game BUT the 3ds version was so boring and easy. If they can make something fun and beautiful like the new donkey kong country games id really want it

  8. the 3ds and wii u2 dosent even have an achievment system. no way am i ever going to buy a nintendo rehash for 60 dallors again.us nintendo rehashes are over priced.us

      1. I agree with you there. I got a laugh when I read “doesn’t even have an achievement system.” That’s your main complaint?
That’s a positive as far as I’m concerned.

And Nintendo games quite often have neat extras. For example, in Yoshi’s Island on the SNES, you can challenge yourself to get all 100 points in a level by having full health and finding all of the flowers and red coins.
In some games you’ll unlock new levels (like the challenging temple levels in Donkey Kong Country Returns), which is a heck of a lot better than an achievement popping up.

    1. The Xbox God sure really does know how to make a joke, creating you is one of the most whimsically humorous moments I’ve ever experienced in quite a while.

    2. Nintendo: We have beloved franchises, high quality games, fun gameplay.
Sony/Microsoft: We have a colossal waste of time called Achievements!

  9. Even if this attempt from Nintendo to listen to its fans is late, it’s still a welcome attempt. Take it easy people, nothing is done overnight.
