Gamescom organiser Koelnmesse has confirmed that Kyoto based company Nintendo will be making an appearance at this year’s event. The company will be showcasing software along with Bethesda, CD Projekt Red, Crytek, Deep Silver, EA, Konami, Microsoft, and Ubisoft. The event takes place in Cologne from August 13th to August 17th. Koelnmesse also revealed that exhibitor numbers are up 50 percent compared to 2013.

Time to show off some new stuff and maybe reveal one big new IP from Nintendo that’ll bedazzle the action lovers.
I’d like them to reveal a new IP aimed at a more ‘mature’ audience (for lack of a better term). I don’t want them to create Call of Duty, but something like the new Tomb Raider, Infamous or something like that. I’m sure they could do it really well.
I’m sure they have enough family friendly IPs. It’d be nice if they tried something out of their comfort zone. They almost had it with Project HAMMER and Disaster Day Of Crisis. Those games showed Nintendo were willing to try branching out into games they don’t typically do.
And Day of Crisis was actually a decent game for the most part. But it was really the kind of game that needed a more powerful console to bring the natural disasters to life. A new instalment on the Wii U could be really good.
I doubt Miyamotos new IP will be this kind of thing though, but I’m sure it’ll be good whatever it is.
Well it is rumored that Miyamoto’s new IP deals with a new look at FPS type games. I’m erring on the side of no for it to be mature driven, based on his past work, but you never know. I would love for Nintendo to come out with some core directed games and ips. They need to spread the love. There is plenty of potential there within the Nintendo universe for some more mature genre’s.
I think the “new look at FPS type games” was the new Steel Diver. During the announcement about it in the Nintendo Direct, Iwata said something along the lines of “it’s a new type of FPS”.
Considering Miyamoto came up with Mario, Zelda & Pikmin, I’d say anything is possible. Those games are all as different as you can possibly get. His new IP could be absolutely anything.

I have a feeling they well give more updates and game footage. Not sure if they well show any thing new, wish they would at least announce a game. I know they said they would have Zelda at E3, but now would be a good time to show something, and have a bigger announcement when E3 comes. Like just show the art or a video that just shows a small promo video for it.

They haven’t made any announcements regarding E3 yet.

hopefully a conference. directs are cheap biut no good. they can alsways do them staright after the conference.
The directs are tine to me, I just wish they will do it live instead of pre-recorded and maybe throw in some performances and special effects

Nice, i think i´ll go there this year. Hopefully they will show something new and exciting throughout the summer. A playable Zelda Demo and Metroid Demo (and of course new ip´s) would be well worth the trip.
You might get disappointed, so be ready for that
C’mon nintendo don’t pull another VGX, give us something great, hyrule warriors, metroid, pokemon something, more smash and mario kart anything decent
Nintendo need to nail E3 this year, that’s for sure. The only way they’ll do that is with a conference.
I think having a Direct last year worked because they didn’t have too much to say, but no one’s hopes were built up too high because they didn’t do a conference, and so no one was too let down by it. They “got away” with a poor E3 if you like. This year however, with the awful financial results that came in this January, Nintendo need to do something great, and like I said, for that they’ll need a conference. A good conference can really set the ball rolling – we saw that in 2006.
I know this has nothing to do with the topic but this is what people here are talking about so thought I’d give my view.
Hopefully they will show off new footage of whatever is announced at E3 with playable demos and maybe announce some new stuff as well.
