One of the members of the Spin Dash forums has posted an offscreen image from the forthcoming Sonic Boom on the Wii U. While it’s currently a work in progress, it shows off the game’s current HUD and gives an idea of camera angles. The image also gives us a look at a Wii U development kit.

That was my first thought as well. Anyways, game looks interesting enough though I’m not holding my breath for anything extraordinary from a sonic game.
Hated Lost World, so I’m not too super excited myself.
Why? LW is great.
It was a bad game, it felt broken, had completely uneven difficulty, and had ridiculously easy bosses. The only good thing about it was the music.
I just could not get in to it, so I put it away after World 2.Played it again for the Zelda and Yoshi DLC, but put it away right after. The game just felt… unfinished. Worst $100 I’ve spent, along with Sticker Stars!

Lookin’ good. this is probably the first sonic game I’ve actually been interested in. Seeing as Big Red Button is comprised of ex-naughty dogs who worked on Jak and daxter this might actually turn out pretty good.

Green so it doesn’t match ANY of the characters. Sonic is blue, Knuckles is Red, Amy is Pink and Tails is Yellow.
Makes perfect sense to use Green.

I was browsing the comments to see if I was the only one who noticed that. Besides the fact that the game is in a early development stage, the picture could have been taken when the game had a timely framerate drop.
It also says DX11 Profile 32bit (i doubt wiiu is actually using DX11),
-Polys: 1,378,926
-Shadows, 622,723
-the gamepad has a different camera angle
-there is a calendar picture of a snake swallowing something
-she has tiger strips tattoo
-there is a white Human Organ box next to her feet
-there is a #1 next to Sonic’s head in the HUD, may hint at player number for co-op or multiplayer
-they are using gray and white tiled textures as stand-in, it’s clear they have more work to do
also, there is a pro controller next to the dev kit.
this + the number next to sonic, probably means more than one player.

I see nothing wrong the design, in parallel to the general Modern/Classic design. Blue arms make all of the sense in the world, and the scarf is plenty fitting for his character.

Oh, it’s opened, in fact. But IE could be opened for a number of reasons, like clicking on a link which opens the default OS browser. And the presence of Chrome (which is not Windows 7 native software) also strongly suggests that IE is not their preferred internet browser.

Hi this game is good.
I’m impressed by the game. These people who think Sonic has never been good need to go back and play Generations and Colors. Sonic games have as much potential as anyone, and can be good. Also, this picture has been up for quite some time now.
