New System Update For Nintendo 3DS Goes Live

Nintendo has released another system update for Nintendo 3DS. The update brings the system’s menu to version 7.2.0-17U, which adds email support to Parental Controls, allowing parents that have forgotten their PIN to send themselves an email with instructions on unlocking Parental Controls. In addition, as per usual, further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

  1. That was a necessary function if you ask me… I just find it strange that it took so long but atleast it is there

    1. Actually, they did change the design of the eShop and it seems to load the images faster, so you might notice a small difference.

  2. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

What’s the point in Parental Controls at all if High Command restricts features all the time…

    1. Tallon Ridley XIII: Kalas

Good point. Miiverse, for example. It’d be less people getting reported if there was a mature tag that parental controls could restrict a kid from clicking.

      1. That would be great! I don’t need to see cursing and stuff, but one can’t even use the word “fricking”, as in “fricking hard”!

    2. Miiverse, swapnote, letterbox…yeah, Nintendo implements their own controls, no need for parentals. :/

If the kid is really young, I guess they could shut the 3D off…

  3. Well I do notice some performances are improved and the email PIN recovery is a nice, helpful addition. All 3DS needs is NN/Miiverse log in/out function.

Now on to updating Wii U for folders, faster load times, improved notifications and such.
